Sour -- her introduction to the GP, did well critically but not super acclaimed, and did quite well at the Grammys --> despite being huge I feel like this was her Fearless. 

 

No equivalent for Speak Now 

 

Guts -- multi-genre (leaned into the pop-punk sound even more + piano ballads), did well commercially, sharper songwriting, clearly showed that she was "growing up" and no longer the ingenue (Teenage Dream reminds me of Nothing New), SNUBBED by the Grammys --> her RED.

 

OR3 -- era where she'll venture out and work with different producers, go for world domination in the tabloids and being everywhere, tailor her songwriting to be slightly less personal for the big hooks? --> her 1989??

No, it'll be her "Christmas Tree Farm"

I'd say erase TS debut and go Sour = Fearless (smash eras), Guts = Speak Now (both underperformed to their standards).

 

Her RED is coming and will offer new genres like more pop and less punk, just like Red had more pop and less country.

Yeah, I think GUTS and Speak Now have a lot of parallels. Didn't match the commercial success of their massive breakthroughs, but still performed well, had successful tours, and helped them solidify their fan bases and prove their staying power. Even sonically and thematically, GUTS/Speak Now feel like more refined (and much better) versions of their predecessors. Remains to be seen whether Olivia's next album will share similarities to Red in the arc of her career, but I agree that I expect it'll be an evolution of her sound. 

She won't be doing Max Martin type of pop now that Daniel Nigro has given us the two biggest debuting popstars of the decade, come on.

miss Rodrigo will serve her biggest hit yet but overall the album isn't going to be bigger than Sour

I read apparently she wants to go full synth pop but her label wants a mix of synth pop and pop rock. I don't really believe it though.

 

I want Dan to produce the whole album again. Ian Kirkpatrick can get involved again too if he wants. Basically just give me GUTS 2.0.

I feel like the big transformation for her next album won't be sonic but physical. She'll maintain her sound but change her appearance (a drastic haircut or a change in hair color) to keep people talking and leave the impression that she's doing something else.

No, it would be her Red.  
 

She has proven to be a hit maker that the GP is here for.  Now she needs to pivot and explore different sonic landscapes.  When she finds the right one she should sink in and make her biggest record.

She has carved herself a loyal rock base niche that check her out so I am not surprised she/her label wants to keep doing a few songs, even if they only end up serving as album tracks for those fans

Ok tea but I feel like a big thing during Speak Now was that critics still viewed her as an artist for teens and it wasn't till Red that they really took her seriously, which I feel like happened with Guts. I guess that's also a function of the times with poptimism, taking women's art more seriously etc

I meant 1989 more so in the craziness of the era/world domination, rather than the type or producer of the music

Which happened with 1989! Her haircut was a big moment.. though I guess the bangs in Red also were. 

My theories:

- OR3 will be the last purple album, and transition to red (she's been subtly introducing it)

- she's not letting go of Daniel Nigro anytime soon, but she'll begin to branch out.

- she'll debut bangs- but sophisticated ones, unlike the ones from the obsessed mv

- pop-rock / synth pop hybrid.

No, but I'm convinced it'll be a bigger smash than GUTS, especially because the tour was incredibly succesful. Next year Sabrina and Chappell's reigns will probably have waned a bit, which will give room for her to seize the moment.
