I think what happened is that she made a super long song which adds a lot to the duration. I wouldn't expect more than 2 songs over 10 minutes tbh

One can only wish she did anything remotely as good as Anna's songs cause my problem with Ethel is that her interesting storytelling/world building is not sustained by an equally interesting and exciting musical output imo (aside from few exceptions)

Yeah I see people say this a lot and I can see why, her storytelling is great and she's said that she wants to become a filmmaker/writer instead of musician full time.

 

I really do think she'll step up her game sonically for Perverts, though. She's critiqued herself before for over-polishing Preacher's Daughter and wants to make her sound more raw so I'm excited to hear what that sounds like after she's had 2 and 1/2 years to work.

Apparently, according to a comment I found on AOTY, Hayden is contractually obligated to release 2 EPs and 1 LP under Dr Luke's label. The label defines an EP as a release longer than two tracks but less than 10, so by that definition Perverts is an EP, and so it will fulfil the requirements to free her from her contract to Prescription Songs (with Inbred being an EP and Preacher's Daughter being a LP).

Album cover is boring af but who cares. Punish is growing on me ever so slightly. You have to really be in the mood but it has a way of grabbing your attention and holding it once you lock in
