I kind of relate, but that honestly makes me even more excited/impatient   I think the confusion is a result of people assuming Preacher's Wife was going to be her sophomore album when in reality it was just meant to be the sequel to Preacher's Daughter. She will most likely have many releases in between that are unrelated to the Ethel Cain lore.

 

She has been teasing "Perverts" on merch for months now and she has spoken about it a little:

well Punish is definitely slower than anything on PD besides August Underground/Televangelism (and still Punish's first half instrumental is even MORE sober and serene than those two). Haven't heard any Amber Waves performance cause I want to experience the project as fresh as possible.

 

EDIT: nvm I just read that the track playing in the clip she posted on instagram months ago of the movie Reflecting Skin was actually Amber Waves. Oh that one was GOOD... can't wait

What about Dust Bowl? Do we know if that one will be on here because I'm obsessed. Or maybe it's part of the B sides that we'll never get

Omfg the creator of preachers daughter, aka a master piece is back.

 

I fear it won't be as good though coz could it be.

I feel like this song is gonna be in the vein of Two-Headed Mother. I just pray it's not as ambient and her vocals aren't as drowned out as they were on her first two EPs. I'd like to at least be able to detect a melody and to discern the words she's singing. Preacher's Daughter is one of the most impressive debuts ever but Inbred EP is my favorite sound by her easily

the high note at the end is the best moment in her entire discography. i always get chills

The big note at the end is edited right? Like pitched up? I feel like I can hear the clipping. I refuse to believe she's actually hitting those notes because that's insane

Inbred and T-HM are my faves pre-PD. So haunting. Also God's Country is SO underrated.

judging by Punish and Amber Waves (and also the American Football cover) this is probably going to be much more sober and definitely ambient influenced. Not ambient per se but yeah. I know the guitar bridges and outros are gonna hit hard tho. Anyway I know she's gonna surprise us all for good.

I think it's edited. She def can SING but that one is too high.
