I just finished my first listen of the album and it's an early contender for AOTY in my opinion  I didn't want it to end honestly 

 

I enjoyed her first album even though it wasn't really something I revisited much, but I knew ever since I heard Punish that this project would really pull me in and would be a huge shift – for the better from my standpoint, although I know that's an unpopular opinion among people who don't like this sound/genre (which is fair enough as it's definitely not for everyone)

And for what it's worth, I wasn't even a huge fan prior to this album but even I had heard from her fans that she's been hugely into ambient/slowcore/drone music and has been expressing her love for it openly and releasing that type of work on her SoundCloud for ages 

 

Sad that she even had to clarify these claims after chronically online people put words in her mouth because they refuse to engage with the work meaningfully and acknowledge the artistry and effort that went into it even if it's not to their taste

Etienne is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING 

 

She really should make the OST for something like Silent Hill 

 

Pulldrone would've been better if it was 2-3min shorter ngl or if the spoken part would've been distributed a bit more during the track length.

I think it's clear she wants out of her publishing deal. She owed them 2 EPs and an LP and by releasing this as an EP, she has fulfilled her requirements on that

 

I don't know if it's true that she set to separate herself from the Tik Tok/cult following she has accumulated online over the last 2 years, but this will help do that. Preacher's Daughter is a special album that's going to continue to find new listeners, though, so I don't know how effective it will be in the long run

 

She accomplished what she set out to do on here. It's drone music. A lot of it is very haunting

What the hell is "drone music"? Anyway, I'm halfway through Perverts and am comforted oddly by the pink noise but am waiting for something interesting to happen.

The album is incredible. The songs dont feel +10min (except for Pulldrone, she might've pushed too far with that one). She's unique when it comes to create soundscapes and atmospheres.

Someone needs to tell her ambient music isn't the same as ambient refrigerators because what am I listening to? Starting to worry she's struggling to recreate anything like the quality of PD so by releasing this as a "passion project mini album" the reception to her actual sophomore will be warmer, anything she puts out next has to be better than this.

tried this again and half of it is just straight up boring, the pretentiousness of RYM users to act like it's just too complex for the casual listen to understand when she really just served this
