why does she need to top Espresso?  it's gonna be one of the biggest songs of the year overall, she has time to score huge hits

Apparently there was a lot of back and forth about whether or not this song or Espresso should be released first and a lot of people in the know think Please Please Please is the better song.

nobody that really listens to her thinks that espresso is top tier in her discog so I think we were all expecting that. the thing is if it'll become a hit or not which i'm doubtful

Yeah that's fair. Though even if Please Please Please doesn't do great commercially I think it could do her a huge favor if it is her dipping more heavily into her artist bag (stronger vocals, more complexity) to show she has versatility and isn't just all horny nonesense and me espresso.
