8 vs. 9

Greatest hits sold more in the 80s and 90s because formats would change and so people would buy multiple copies, giving them tons of super strong catalog sales. The change from 8 tracks to cassettes to CDs to digital downloads give 80s artist a leg up on everyone in terms of sales.

OT: Only Like A Prayer wins for Madonna. Britney washed her in everything else.

Lol except your lame excuse would make sense if TIC wasn't released in late 1990. By then Vinyl was dead and the 8-track was especially dead  and the cassette was on it's way out. Plus both of the singles were bigger smashes than most Britney songs on the Hot 100, and the album had Truth or Dare and The Blond Ambition tour. Madonna is simply the bigger star by far

Madonna 9 / Britney 8. Honestly Britney held up better than I thought she would but overall Madonna just stomps. She was already a legend by the time that album came out with such a insane and diverse catalogue of hits. Just look at the material

5:12 for GH:MP

Good comparison actually.

As a whole I prefer GH:MP (international/UK edition ), i think it's what every compilation should AIM to be. Almost every single from a certain period of time, single version of the song when applicable, new excelent material, curated running order, a special edition with a mindblowing megamix and great new remixes of some songs. It truly has it all. However when making a track vs track.... things dont go as favourably lol
