Well?

 

To me they feel a bit like a cash grab, especially the amount artists are charging for tickets these days. I get it's an easier way for an artist to make money, but I think often times a stadium tour can be impersonal, can be restrictive if you're sat farther away, due to the scale can lack creative design with staging. Bring back multiple dates in the one location arena tours.  

No stadium shows can make for incredible production that an arena can’t but not everyone has the creative talent to do so (Gaga)

But I feel like S-tier artists like Beyoncé, Taylor, etc. cannot do arena tours anymore. It would be easier/less time consuming for the artists and their team to do 3 stadium dates in one country and move onto another country than do 6 arena dates per country. (And there's no way S-tier/stadium acts will only do 2-3 arena dates.)

i think live nation & management finally realize how much touring impacts the artist’s health so it makes more sense to upgrade to larger venues to save time and increase profit.

I shudder at the thought of how many arena dates Taylor would have to play to equal the capacity of her stadium tour, which itself hardly managed to scratch the demand for tickets.

No. There's something so liberating about screaming the lyrics to an anthem alongside 50,000+ other people

except this isn’t the case, Bey, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Taylor, Coldplay etc.. all have insane stage designs

It depends how big the demand is.

No because artists like Bey and Taylor would have to do wayyy too many arena dates to make up for the demand. 

Life is all about FOMO and clout nowadays and investors know it.

Stadium concerts if you are not up close, it's not worthy 

I'm personally not a fan, I prefer the more intimate vibe of arenas.

If Taylor or Bey made arena shows they would make the same amount of shows and charge 5-6x more

 

Basically would become a luxury or elite to attend, leaving out 80% of their fanbases

 

They wouldn’t be able to do more dates since touring can destroy your mental health and overall health

I love stadium shows at night 

It depends on the artist tbh.

 

I rather attend to an Arena or Auditorium concert tbh, it feels more intimate and I enjoy it more overall. In the stadiums sometimes I feel so overwhelmed by the amount of people LOL.

 

But for artists like Bey, Taylor or even Coldplay it's understandable that they choose to do stadiums, because of the demand.

Well the rule of thumb is something like 4-5 arena dates = 1 (football) stadium date.  So something like 600-750 arena dates. 

Stadiums give fans more of an opportunity to see their fave artist. Especially for bigger acts like Taylor, Coldplay, Bey etc.

 

Bey had 5 dates in London and there was less pressure that I wouldn’t secure a ticket because of the supply & capacity. 

Arena shows are superior in literally every single way.

Yes. It started as a way of getting cheaper tickets since the costs were spread among way more fans but... well... here we are in 2023 now with every ticket for a stadium tour being way too overpriced

Stadium shows are awful  Live music was always about connection you make with people on stage and it's impossible to do so when you're one of the 50k unless you're close to stage which only deranged freaks who wait 20 hours are able to achieve. Let's not even talk about the money. I see no reason to attend big shows anymore. They are scamming you and you're happy being scammed 

What do you mean by redundant? Not sure that word applies here

 

As for my opinion though, even arenas are too big unless you're pretty close to the stage in the pit. My preferred venue size is 1-3k people 

I've attented Madonna concert last week and YES! Stadium shows are ******* overrated! 

Nothing will replace the Arena experience! Lights, sound,view, everything is better and you can enjoy the show even in the farthest seats.

Wish my faves would get back to Arenas

Anyone who tried to get tickets to Eras Tour knows arenas aren't an option for some artists if fans want any chance of getting tickets.  

there are some creative artists who give you a full show in a stadium (gaga, bey, Pink Floyd, Coldplay, Madonna, etc) so for them I see it as an extension of their art

 

but for the most part its about demand. Tho it would be interesting if artist had what you see is what you get approach to touring, like Taylor doing 2 shows in an arena and if you don't get tickets too bad too sad
