Jacob Elordi becoming arrogant?

Featured Replies

Jacob Elordi's outspoken comments about the Kissing Booth movies and rejecting the Superman role may indeed impact his career and public perception. Criticizing popular films and turning down iconic roles can alienate fans and industry professionals ala Katherine Heigl during peak Grey's Anatomy .

Hollywood values diplomacy and professionalism, and Elordi's bluntness might be viewed as arrogance, potentially affecting future casting opportunities. Public perception is crucial in the entertainment industry, and fans may question his approach, wondering if it aligns with the values they expect from their favorite stars.

Time will tell if Elordi's candidness will be a lasting stain or a passing controversy in his career trajectory. Will the GeePee be turned off by his attitude?

  • I read the thread title as "Jacob Elordi becoming pregnant?" for some reason.

  • Why do people want celebrities to be boring and fake and just say everything is amazing all the time   We all know The Kissing Booth movies were just dumb teen fluff

  • I think that writers (+ labels and producers in the case of musicians) are not infallible and it’s normal for artists to have negative/mixed feelings about stuff that they had to do before they felt l

Uh no.. I actually find what he said about the value of the audience's time and attention to be quite respectful. And after seeing Priscilla, I would say he's practicing what he's preaching because he was f*cking phenomenal in it.

he is a great actor unlike his KB co-stars and if he keeps doing films like Priscilla or have roles like Euphoria's Nate he will be just fine!

I can see an Oscar nod coming his way soon.

I don't think he seems arrogant. He just seems to be really passionate about his characters. At the end of the day, he's still taking high-profile roles... But I can see him becoming the modern Josh Hartnett where he does a big films until he starts to become a mainstream actor and then decides to leave Hollywood to focus solely on independent films.

i mean he’s right, the kissing booth movies are ******* garbage :rip:

I need to watch pricella but I always felt like he would disappear as soon as euphoria ends he doesn’t seem interesting enough  after the show and his hype feels extremely artificial like Timothy chalamet. Of course I need to see his movies to truly make a judgment since I am just judging on euphoria.

This is so extra. He barely said anything and it was in a response to an interview question.

Why did I confuse him with the actor that played Archie on Riverdale💀 I don't think there's anything wrong with what he said, but leave it to the internet to feel slighted in some way because he wants to have an acting legacy that he can be proud of.

I think that writers (+ labels and producers in the case of musicians) are not infallible and it’s normal for artists to have negative/mixed feelings about stuff that they had to do before they felt like they had the power to be more selective.

If he is arrogant then I don’t think this interview conveys it. Acting is a job at the end of the day. Plenty of these actors take roles that aren’t necessarily fulfilling because it’s a paycheck and they need to support their lives. Most don’t have the leverage to discriminate work unlike him, but his feelings aren’t an anomaly.

He didn't say anything wrong? And most people agree with him. Let celebrities be normal people with opinions and not PR'd robots pls

I don't see these comments as him been arrogant or affecting his career. The Kissing Booth Movies aren't highly regarded or respected and he shouldn't have to act in roles that don't interest him.

He was right to turn down Superman.  DC is a mess and superhero films are past their prime.

Also. The kissing booth movies are definitely not great.

I don't see an issue with him being critical of past roles. Those movies weren't good and he likely took them because he needed the work, not because he connected to the material. He's in a position now where he can be more choosy with the work he takes and he is free to speak on his past roles in any way he wishes. If he didn't enjoy it, then he shouldn't have to say he did just to placate the film's fans. As for turning down Superman....how is that arrogance? He didn't want to do it, so he didn't do it. People turn down job offers all the time, that doesn't make them arrogant.

This is literally the equivalent of Robert Pattinson trashing the Twilight movies. I don't expect any backlash cuz he's right. I think with the current state of the superhero genre, rejecting Superman is actually considered a smart decision.

He'll be fine as long he doesn't pull and JLaw and overdo it.

And considering literally everyone that replied has the same sentiment, this thread BACKFIRED HARD for the OP :bibliahh:

Some of y’all cannot deal with the fact that some artists (singers and actors) don’t like all their works. In what world does it affect you that much. :rip:

Literally most people agree that there’s superhero fatigue atm. Look at The Marvels BO and come back to me. @nostalgia

Some actors just don’t want to get sucked into a multiple movie contract when they can instead fill up their resume working with acclaimed directors and do whatever they want.
