  1. Sister don't even get me started on all that thinly veiled transphobia!
  2. Well DUA, for me its not that they sound the same literally - its that they all have the same structure and no levels. They start at their peak and then just... stay there. Until the song ends All of her new songs are desperately in need of levels. Listen to Physical if you need an example of what's missing lol
  3. Oop! Close the thread, we have the answer!
  4. There are ACCUSATIONS and then there are CONVICTIONS. I'll just say that and wait for info from sources more credible than fans of certain rape and abuse apologists with dead careers!
  5. More like Taylor Swift is proof that there are a lot of fans are working in the industry who seem to be more focused on advancing their fave's career instead of their own. Too many good reviews are from suspicious sources OR from publications that have been endorsed by Miss Swift herself. Paired with the undeniable fact that journalists are routinely harassed by Swifties for daring to criticize her paints a crystal clear picture in my humble opinion. Y'all are naive as HELL if you don't think her Wall Street elite parents know a thing or two about press courtship. They've done a good job over the past decade convincing everyone that her tabloid clarification albums are anything more than KidsBop Lana, but with the epic over saturation of her profile this year I think we've reached the point of no return - a lot of people are sick of pretending she's one of the greatest living songwriters.
  6. You're seeing stuff about Gaga because some Swiftie tweeted this: So naturally everyone is kiiing now that TTPD has dropped lower on Metacritic The common thread I'm seeing is that Taylor's insane fans attract a lot of negative attention with their aggression and dumb takes. They're literally weighing her down at this point.
  7. OMG I remember her, she was supposed to be Justin Timberlake's discovery and then he dropped her
  8. Taylor is so discussed because she, along with her wall street elite parents, worked tirelessly to build one of the biggest brands of all time and convinced an entire generation of girls that she's just like them and that all her success is their success too. Fast forward two decades later and Taylor's boarding her 4th private flight of the week while her mostly middle class fandom feverishly types away on their lunch breaks defending Taylor's latest marketing push all while the notification of their $350 bill for all the vinyl variants hits their inbox. The only thing divisive here is her fandom, their insane behaviour over the past decade and their insistence that Taylor comes out on top in every scenario. To her fans she's god, but I promise you to the rest of the world she's considered more famous than talented.
  9. Oh sister you spilled Now Bey and Gaga need to get back in the Pussywagon and save us from this mediocrity
  10. I posted about it in HQ a week ago and got nothing but silence and a thinly veiled jab from an admin. One of those genocide defenders laugh reacted at the jab too.
  11. And of course, the usual ATRL zionists are in here spreading propaganda with zero repercussions.
  12. Every single thing she does in public is calculated and measured for her fans. She acts out the life on full display, and then creates music as a follow up to each relationship/scenario while OBLITERATING the lives of the subjects. She collects famous friends and either mimics them (Lorde, Lana) or uses them as publicity shields (Lena Dunham, Ice Spice) before casting them aside and moving on to the next obsession. All of this amounts to a MCU Universe media cycle of Taylor "lore", easter eggs and "insider knowledge" that separates the hardcore fans from the rest... creating a cultural vacuum that very quickly starts to look like a cult. This lore has become insanely complicated and messy, and to the casual consumer adds up to a whole lot of nothing. From a music production stand point though, one of my biggest issues is how nearly every song of hers is just a vocal melody with tons of clunky metaphors, and the actual music is only there to support it. There's never any impressive instrumentation or room for the music to breathe - it's simply a conduit to main line Taylor's diary entries. Compare anything from her catalogue to Lana's "Venice *****" as an example. Taylor is and will always be remembered as one of the biggest pop acts of all time - but I don't think her fans realize how little that has to do with acclaim or artistic achievement. She cracked the code and is the physical manifestation of late stage pop music capitalism.
  13. A downvote from a Swiftie is basically an upvote in my opinion because it means you hit a nerve with some truth
  14. BTS also had unprecedented sales and streaming figures, but any lasting cultural impact is barely measurable in America. Be for real. bulk buying might look good on paper but it's reflective of an echo chamber. Taylor has millions of fans, but they're the only ones listening to this album rn lmao
  15. I know this might be difficult to understand, but I was a fan of Taylor for a VERY long time. I went to the Fearless tour twice, own all the albums up to 1989 on CD, and even enjoyed Folklore. I know you're desperate to prove that I'm just a hater but the fact is I'm quite qualified to make a judgement on this album. I, like you, have invested my time and money into Taylor's career and I'm sick of her McAlbum release cycle. The music is suffering, she's a boring billionaire still talking about boys like she's 19. It's boring. I am allowed to contribute to these conversations, just like you - the difference is you're being incredibly pointed and rude. Grow up.
