Tbh I never buy into these “body positivity” bs from people. I know a girl who has made that her whole brand on tiktok but in reality is a ***** & sits there and calls other big girls nasty if they don’t have her type of body

I don't know which is to be believed i mean there's alot of accusers but as far as I Know no one on the tour has come to her defense which is alarming. If at least someone spoke out against the allegations we may at least have a case of a possibility that its not all true. Although I do think some things are embellished like the banana thing just sounds made up. I guess we will see what happens if this goes to court.

I'm sure this is the response she could provide given the legal circumstances. She and her team know this answer is not really answering anything...

Are we able to critise lizzo’s behaviour and work ethic without bringing her weight into it???

 

it’s clear they emphasised the whole ‘weight gain’ firing to rile up the fans, both the ones who are waiting to cancel her for being a fat black artist, and those who look up to her for visibility and acceptance. She never explicitly said you’ve gained too much weight you’re fired, that was the proponents interpretation, which has been emphasised in the press because body positivity is such a key message for her.

 

she deserves the criticism and she deserves the back lash but using this this an excuse to make fun of her weight is not the tea, although I know some of u cis gay men hate fat people, but just something to be mindful of, because using this as an excuse to fat shame and be fatphobic affects way more people than just Lizzo.

Indeed and how is it that “no apology = guilty” but then “apology = guilty” as well? The accusations don’t seem to have much  evidence attached to them. Watching the Arianna girl ramble in a 15 minute interview about how nothing was said or done to her, but she felt really bad, was painful. If Lizzo did wrong, then address it, but we need facts.

if she felt like she was in the wrong and decided to publicly apologise than yes in a court of law that provides evidence to her guilt. I wasn’t saying ‘she can’t admit her guilt publicly for the sake of the suit’, I was merely saying that even IF she believed she was in the wrong and was to publicly apologise would be detrimental to her case. Some of y’all really need to work on your critical thinking before posting about such serious topics.

Yeah I feel like people filing an actual lawsuit with actual attorneys involved wouldn't completely screw up their own case by including such an outrageous story if it wasn't true and provable.

It remains neutral to the situation but examines her overall response, its intention/effectiveness, and where the response falls within a PR/legal framework.

this lady also made some really interesting points mainly around the different standards we set for different pop stars. Like we know Beyonce is cut throat and unforgiving yet we all live for it… I guess Beyonce is smart enough to keep a few degrees of separation from her employees. This whole thing really emphasises the importance of keeping your employees as employees and not to force a friendship, which I think is a lesson Lizzo is now learning the hard way, as are probably a lot of other singers who have been in similar situations.

This is about sexually HARASSING someone, forcing them to eat a banana out of a stripper's pvssy, threatening them with physical violence and having to be restrained otherwise that threat would have become a reality. It is outright disgusting that you are minimizing the very serious allegations put forward by the alleged victims.

Did I reference the sexual assault allegations??? That wasn’t a point of discussion in what I was saying. I was speaking more generally to the notion of employer-employee relationships and how it can cause serious issues.

 

The sexual assault allegations are very serious and I’m appalled you interpreted my post as shaming the alleged victims when I wasn’t referencing that whatsoever nor is it referenced in either of the tik toks I posted.

 

there’s lot of layers and nuisances to all of this, and as I said all I was noting was the potential issues of not having boundaries with the people who work for you and how it can impact the work place.
