Cut her some slack. FN was one of the few actual eras in the sense we knew them any MPG has given us this decade so far.

 

Everything she is releasing currently are just cute little droplets. I am pretty sure she will be back on top once she actually starts her next era.

 Dua lacks a brand , allure, a distinctive trait,  charisma…  

She’s a pretty girl who sings pop songs .

Maybe her next era can turn things around .

No, she's too pretty to be boring 

She does serve bops, but she does have a pretty monotone vocal delivery. One Kiss for example was incredibly boring and Don't Start Now is only catchy in the chorus. Physical is good but the chorus is lacking a bit in intensity compared to the rest of the album. 

 

But Physical is still good as is Levitating, Love Again, Break My Heart, Dance the Night, etc.

In what universe OK is boring, DSN verses aren't catchy and Physical chorus isn't intense?

Calvin's collabs with HAIM, Tinashe, Rih, Ellie, Florence, etc brought a lot more presence to the table.

Physical's chorus isn't as intense in vocal delivery as it could be. She's literally interpolating miss Olivia who actually BROUGHT the energy on her original version. You even have Doja Cat interpolating it the following year and having more presence despite the song being more laid back. 

Future Nostalgia was good enough that I’ll wait another album cycle before making those judgements. We’re too hyperfocused here, she just became actual famous with FN, so let’s see what she drops in this next album.

 

I’ve been saying since 2021 that she needs a heavy Nelly Furtado ‘Loose’ inspo for the next album, she would MURDER on a song like Say It Right or Maneater, probably more than the original artist. Let’s see what she ends up serving

Lol I was literally just thinking “why doesn’t Dua feel like Katy did during her peak?” And then I saw this thread. 

I mean I really haven't seen her interviews or anything but I'm sure she's not boring. She's a unproblematic hitmaker. Seems someone is jealous she has hits?

I agree with all of these sentiments. Her vocal delivery can be very dry and not fully take you where the song intends for you to go because of it. 
 

I think Physical is okay though despite this, and for DSN, I personally think the song will age like milk similar to New Rules. But, I don’t find the verses being forgettable on a chorus-heavy, repetitive song like DSN inherently a bad thing. I think those verses are decent. But yeah, her vocal delivery on this one is too dry for the song at times.  

Dance the Night is cute. It didn't hit immediately but it turns out it's a harmless enjoyable bop! 

She makes some good bops and has a good voice but I do agree that she's kind of dry and bland. She's one of those artists whose music is bigger then her.

It’d be boring if every Pop Girl was like Dua, but I do think there’s a valid place for a pop girl who clocks in, gives the public what they’re asking for, and then clocks out. 

Her music isn't boring for the kind of pop act she is. She has a distinctive tone that adds to that imo. Everyone isn't or can't be a cult of personality. 

Her personality is boring but her music has some life in it. She really did make a rock solid pop record with FN but it’s hard to know whether or not it was a fluke. We’ll see.

She's definitely the Katy Perry of her generation so far

Ever since she debuted people have said she is boring, is faceless, not interesting and other shady things.

Yet she keeps being on peope's mind on this forum, so she sparks the interest for some people.

 

I also find it interesting it sparks so much interest of the OP that they found the need to open a thread.

It's also pretty curious the OP is named after a Fifth Harmony bonustrack, but I guess there is no hidden agenda there...

 

I fear some people's life's are boring, maybe find a proper hobby?

I will never understand how people can actually hate Dua, she's so harmless and make amazing gay bops
