Lana doesn't make faceless dance-pop though.  Not comparable. Stay on topic babe.   Dua is kind of dry and keeps serving the same song over and over again. Why?

What’s with the Dua hate train lately   Sis is pretty much the only pop girl who serves an era nowadays and her visuals are cute and her songs are bops   You guys call her boring

Did I strike a nerve? Just an observation loves. Not all music has to be “such a bop omg”

Are your observations in music discussions about pop stars usually that homophobic or? :biblio:

Just because you were hurt by it for some reason doesn’t make it homophobic. I didn’t even mention gay men :rip: most of the orgies I’ve… been around… have that music blasting regardless of the participants gender and sex.

Lana is definitely boring sometimes. She also makes much more intricate and artistic music… that isn’t meant for popper fueled orgies where ugly 35 year old butterfaced men who came out at 29 try to make themselves feel good about their pathetic corporate lives

What exactly do you think coming out means?

I’m not talking all gay men, I myself am a gay man :rip: most of Lana’s fan are gay men. My comment wasn’t about them being gay. My point is that music being danceable, high energy, “sexy” and made for sweat fueled wild nights… can still be boring. And delicate, more intricate and interesting music can be exciting

Things ATRL doesn't care to admit:

-Dua's first album actually isn't very good. It's not the worst I heard, but there's a reason Dua really blew up with the Future Nostalgia era.

-Just because you have powerhouse vocalists or artists that can dance if their lives depended on it doesn't mean (which I know OP is not alluding to) you lack talent.

I've seen some clips of Dua live, and not only does she have the look, but she's kicked up the theatrics/attire up a notch.

Also, an artist can have a mediocre album or song. It doesn't speak for their entire body of work.

Very talented ladies, but tl;dr: I don't think Dua is boring.

Now THIS I am looking forward to. It would give her that edge I feel she’s been missing. I have a feeling it’s going to be situation where only one or two of the songs they work on makes the cut tho sadly

Not only that but they will shame and be hateful towards others for something that they themselves admit to doing and enjoying, just because they want to prove a point in a thread about how Dua Lipa is boring. Imagine saying all of that just for an artist you claim you don't care about and find uninteresting.

This thread again

Dua keeps getting bigger & better she is the biggest Pop star since Ariana (excluding Peers like Doja or Billie that are not 100% Pop)

but you know an artist made it when they get a lot of amout of hates too :gaycat5:

I LITERALLY said she is good at everything and has the full package. I just don’t find her unique. I’ve seen her live for god sake :rip: I am legit a fan lol it’s just the opinions in here defaulting to “when Lana is boring” DID strike a nerve with me because lots of the people on this site think anything that’s not a high octane 3 minute dance bop is boring

yes, ive noticed a pattern that gays who are too obsessed w social media clout\those who partake in hookup culture tend to be her biggest stans. im not trashy and i find her super annoying lmao

So just because someone else you like was called out for the same thing that is suddenly an excuse to be hateful. Not only that but you literally said in your comment you do the same activities and recognize her music in them, so why shame everyone else who was there with you? Just because you like another artist more? Make it make sense.

Imagine actually saying this and finding nothing wrong with it. :biblio:

@mystery respectfully whats wrong about my statement? its just something ive noticed lmaoo. im not the type of person that has a twitter acc for the sake of posting selfies every here and then for clout (besides being pretty) and am more relationship oriented. ive known someone who is the biggest dua lipa stan and he is JUST LIKE THAT. he was a **** quite literally. but not saying that ppl who like dua lipa r sluts. its just that i feel like yall exude some more sexual energy than us modest girlies who listen to taylor swift n the alike

im ******* crying bcs theres actual people mad over this thread.. she has good songs definitely but theyre just not my type

Why are yall always wanting famous women to fill up the drama and entertainment that seems to be missing in your lives. This is why in many ways gay men are not so different than the average straight male.

You literally called everyone who is her fan a gay who is obsessed with social media, partakes in hookup culture (as if it is a bad thing, it is really everyone's choice to do what they like, btw yes that is **** shaming) and a trashy person. Just based on ONE individual in your private life. Then you say there is nothing wrong with that, what the actual ****.

The brains are literally rotting away in there

I'm saying! She'll keep serving the same thing over and over again until the gays turn on her for it, or she actually tries to do something different and they hate it because it's not basic dance-pop.

And that’s that on that

I love her but her next era needs to have a little more personality. Something that makes you go "This is definitely Dua Lipa" in both sound, imagery, and lyrics that grounds her image.

Right now she's just "fun" and "gorgeous"

It's why she still never has big debuts. She's like an ultimate influencer/model with successful music. I hope her next era has a little more personality that ties it specifically to her.

you are probably right. I feel like she might be in for Kylie Minogue route, where you know she can serve edge but most of the time she has to settle for more radio-friendly sound
