Can anyone defeat Taylor?

Featured Replies

Ever since Bad Bunny's tour ended in december his streams have been naturally declining. Despite releasing a new song a few days ago he recently dropped below Taylor in daily streams, who is on pace for a staggering 18-20+ billion streams this year even without factoring in additional releases. God only knows how high that number can rise if she releases Speak Now TV in the spring and 1989 TV in the summer.

Is there any artist, male or female, that can beat Taylor and become Spotify's biggest artist of 2023?

Bad Bunny could probably still easily take it so it’s too early to say it’ll be Taylor’s year. However she does have a great shot at it. Besides one of them, no one else is realistically taking it.

Only other possible competition I think is The Weeknd… if he released a new album that smashes and has 1-2 huge hits, since his catalogue is smashing hard lately. But I don’t imagine he would release it early in the year, which would be needed to have a shot at it.

Overall no one.

Olivia and Billie could compete with Midnights if they release a full LP but only in streaming.

Maybe if the weeknd releases a full LP by the end of the year too. But his catalog is not as big as Taylor’s.

Taylor’s catalog is insane and I think she will be sitting in the top 3 each year for the rest of the 2020s.

Probably not, the music industry is dead. Good for Taylor, but I’m not gonna suck her off for it.

Has a women ever been the most streamed person?  Chances are The Weeknd, Drake, or Bad Bunny will take it.

You literally answer yourself in the OP

Bad Bunny released months ago so he is lower and taylor released two months ago so she is higher but will decline

He can dethrone her easily

Well he was ahead of her for the last month despite Midnights' release but his streams have been declining recently, while Taylor's are rising again. He has the closest chances with a new album I'd say but if Taylor releases 2 rerecords during tour I'd bet on her

She’s lucky Lady Gaga or Katy Perry isn’t releasing this year :gaygacat6:

honestly, it takes years and Olivia might just be the one to come for her and do it.

or maybe someone we don’t even know about yet.

all I know is that her fanbase will absolutely lose it and unprecedented things will happen that we’ve never seen from a fanbase before

Taylor and Bad Bunny will be the top 2 again. The order depends on what they release

Not really. But then again Bad Bunny becoming so massive in the past year is kinda insane to see. So anything can happen. Even Olivia has potential to make some Spotify streaming records. Doubt anyone other than a Kpop group will ever sell like taylor ever again tho💀 you need army’s and swifties to make those type of sales. But as far as streaming I can see young blood overtaking Taylor’s record one day

sia was spotifys #1 artist back when cheap thrills was a huge hit (and chandelier & the greatest were hits too)

Yes, we just need Sonique to come back from hiding and give us another “So Good”

Not for the whole year though. I am pretty sure Drake was the top artist of 2016.

Taylor wasn't for the whole year too no? Sia was only for 1-2 months

That's what they were saying - that a man would probably over take her like all the previous years

She’s taking it this year.
The tour boost and the 2 TV will take her to 20 billion streams.

Sza will. She just needs to release the super deluxe with 100 songs she wrote. People will ear it up.

The weekend with another smash album.

Or bad bunny with a couple high profile collab smash hits.

If Ariana came back and did a full rollout, multiple smash singles and whatnot probably.

But that speaks volumes about Taylors power.

She's the final villain, and we are in the movie where the villain actually wins at the end :gaycat7:
