Out of curiosity, how old are you? I graduated in 2011 and went to a fairly liberal school so being gay wasn’t a huge deal in HS but in middle school around 2005-2008 it was hell. Everyone was homophobic, even TV to an extent was still behind the curve.

True, I agree. We've made progress for sure. I guess what I mean is, most civilized people probably aren't racist or homophobic, but to an extent I think everyone holds their own biases.

Homophobia will always exist, just like racism. I roll my eyes at millennials who act like Gen Z are supposed to be wiser and more tolerant. Like, at the end of the day they're teenagers, how advanced are they supposed to be? And just like with millennials and generations before them, they will become more conservative over time. Anyways, "Ironic homophobia" is the new homophobia. Maybe less aggressive, but definitely still plays on stereotypes. Online gays encourage and perpetuate it, so women and straight boys feel comfortable joining in usually. I'm no saint, because I love calling guys **** over the simplest things. Its funny
