They should really just can the tour and come back stronger in bigger venues. It’s not like it’s a 17 member group OR like she’s a disposable member.

It happens again and again and we always see a certain breed of success stan get very bold with the comparisons/assertions above groups that actually will have impact or staying power because they have an actual identity and/or talent. They eventually fall off and then those fans move on to the next faceless idol group.

Without Wonyoung they’d already be on their way out along with some other 4th gen groups that we’ve seen basically disappear off the charts already. The music is great but eventually there will be a new flavor of the month to give the best radio friendly demos to.

please, they debuted 8 months before NJ, they are not years apart - their fanbase grew so they saw the sale increase, same will happen with NJ, especially when they didn’t have 2 well known idols, one being a possible 4th gen it girl 

 

NJ ep didn’t sell over 1m upon debut too, it’s just that it gained traction after Ditto and is still gaining a good amount of sales, months after release

i rooted for ive so much at first but seeing the ART other 4th gen girl groups are serving compared to ive’s countrified material made me lose faith in them. they don’t have any clear identity and their songs could have been released by absolutely any group tbh

Other than aespa who are slowly becoming my all time favorite group, I think they still have the best TTs in the industry atm. I’m rooting for them still but eventually they’re going to stop getting priority access to guaranteed hits like Love Dive and I Am.

I sort of agree about Ive. I think the big 4 influence is just too strong. I hope I'm proven wrong and they can have a long successful career.

The way kpop integrates so many verticals is one of the key differentiators from other major music industries. Normally these things are handled by agencies outside of the record label and done in collaboration with an artists personal team. Depending on how much the label invested into the artist, they might then contractually be entitled to a cut of it. That’s why I personally feel like NJ’s very visible success is such a win for kpop as a whole, the thing that makes big kpop agencies different is obviously paying off in a tangible way.

 

Lee Sooman often in speeches referred to kpop as a new form of multimedia experience instead of a musical genre, and any step towards the business world getting on board with that is meaningful progress imo.

Idk why my RV girls always have such bad luck when it comes to this, and especially Joy. She always seems to get some issue which stops her from going to their overseas schedules. Whatever is going on with Joy's health is serious, I hope she rests and gets better soon.

 

I really think they should postpone the rest of the tour until she is better though. It probably also means their comeback plans are probably delayed now too.

 

So I guess that makes a Wendy solo comeback or Irene solo debut even more likely now.

It’s the fact that I highly doubt they’ll reschedule. Didn’t get to see her last year at the MIK festival and now she’s on hiatus for the rest of the tour. Luck is never on our side with RV

Joy is just very fragile…her stamina is not it unfortunately. I just hope it’s nothing too serious but it kinda seems that way seeing as how they cancelled her schedules even a few months in advance.

Idk, I don't want to speculate. Seulgi telling fans to look after their "body and mind" and the fact that she was hospitalized, doesn't seem like it's a small thing.

 

At least SM is not forcing her to work or anything though (knowing that they have done this in the past). Hopefully she rests well.

On a real note, the way Rose is LITERALLY acquaintances with the biggest of the biggest of Hollywood's influencers-? She has access to contacts no one in K-pop has I fear, not even BTS!

 

She literally hosted a MET event, went to dinners with Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, Florence Pugh, Halsey, Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber (their breakup is incoming I fear, the Roseanne curse will hit them!)

 

I just know Rose's renewal contracts with YG will have her living in the US 75% of the time tbh, she'd be a massive solo star globally + with BLACKPINK.
