Finally saw LE SSERAFIM in Newark last night. I haven't been following kpop as much as I used to and honestly didn't expect myself to get as hyped as I did. They were so present and interactive with the audience. Our seats were kinda far up but I was jumping up and down like an idiot whenever one of the members would scan over our section. And was thorough impressed by the live vocals dancing and energy through the whole night. Not too many intermissions or vcr stuff, it was a pretty tight set. There were more kids at the show than I expected, I think IBM brought in a lot of the KATSEYE stans Anyways I love LE SSERAFIM I will always be a fan

The techbro above is currently being destroyed for this take, but really imagine listening to music by swiping through an algorithm full of melodies that doesn't exist before it reaches your phone, sounds personally tailored to your taste, indistinguishable to the ear from something human-made. Would it ever be accepted by the public? Do you think you would ever want to consume music this way? On one hand, music to me and others is an extremely communal experience. It's meant to be shared, and discussed, and enjoyed collectively - we care about the singer, the human who created that music, how they perform it, how they connect to the world and to us. It's why this site even exists. I don't think there's any way that AI could replace that experience. On the other hand, I probably would've responded similarly to the concept of TikTok/consuming algorithmic media a decade ago. I'm concerned about how far this tech will advance a year down the line. What will you be doing to combat the coming AI revolution era in music? some additional food for thought.

many kpop stans conflated the brashness of the synths (not easy listening) and taglines (i'm your bias! its me!) with brainrot/lazy songwriting- its actually a well made pop song that doesnt really feel out of character for ILLITs brand and its success speaks for itself. never deserved to be lumped in with the likes of hooti frutti and boompala..
