Why didn’t Work ***** hit No.1?

Featured Replies

In the late 2000s and early 2010s, Britney’s lead singles hit No.1 and her fanbase was actively buying her songs, Femme Fatale even had three Top 10s.

However Work *****, one of her most known classics now, didn’t even peak in the top 10 and didnt have a huge debut compared to Womanizer and HIAM, why? What is a 2 year difference between 2011 and 2013, where did all her fans go? Especially since she did X Factor that year, you’d think the song would be a bigger hit

It’s a terrible song, her worst lead, from her worst album, released during the worst period of her life.

Ignore it & everything from that era & enjoy her otherwise immaculate discography.

A song that charted on the Hot 100 and that is remembered ? You better stan b!tch ! :gaycatney5:

The song was way too gay for the GP- homophobia starting winning around that time :cm:

because most people are lazy :cm: no idea how anyone can say this song is bad, it pumps me up whenever I don't feel like working out :jonnycat:

It came right after Scream & Shout and Ooh La La and the song upon released wasn’t exactly beloved by fans, I didn’t like it and honestly, I don’t think I like it much still and we all know the story behind it and Britney jean.

Is it now?

Maybe it is a coincidence and the hype just died down but I felt like after the switch to RCA her singles did not get the push that Jive gave them. Criminal was the first single that got released under RCA.

Homophobia levels started to rise after BTW was released :cm: Brit released WB for the gays so she lost

Nah, you're right only. RCA hasn't managed any of her post-2011 eras properly.

The song was kind if memeish and people really didn’t take it seriously, but it did end up being somewhat iconic in the long run.

It was a jingle for her Vegas residency commercial

also Britney’s power could only do so much for team con’s ideas for singles from 2008 to 2015
