This post isn’t doing what you think it’s doing… absolutely nothing wrong with her. Have you been saying the same thing about Elton? He’s been sampling his older hits. Are you giving Elton the same energy as Madonna? Or are you not liking the record because it’s not in English? Which one is it? 

NOTHING is wrong with Madonna! She's breaking new boundaries by releasing music like this -- WHO besides Madonna has been this BRAVE in his or her 60s to release cutting edge hip music videos like these?! She's ahead of the game as always! 

 

This is what Madonna always has been. This is just like the Madonna from 1983 to 2007. Same values, same artistic integrity, same groundbreaking approaches to music. Fans who don't appreciate these releases never actually liked Madonna or what she stood for. This is exactly what everyone should have expected of Madonna. 

 

So many of her fans complain, yet she doesn't care about any of them! Her fans don't deserve her. She's appealing to Gen Z and looks so COOL in this video! Look at how many streams she's getting on Spotify and Tik Tok with these releases! She looks so young and hip with her grillz and drugs. Everyone criticizing her is so old and boring.

 

Just wait for her Greatest Hits Tour. Stadiums will be too small. They're going to have to build venues capable of holding 500,000 people a night to support the built up demand she's creating.

Madonna just refuses to be old. She was hot and tight when she was at her 50s. But she just suddenly got old quickly the last few years and she is doing all these plastic surgeries which further showcase her insecurities. I mean, Janet and Mariah are comfortable with their age and act gracefully. She should too. She is the blueprint and will always be. Just flow with the age, she will always be the queen and above all.

In the first half of her career, Madonna's entire artistic identity was primarily based around rejecting the societal norm of what an acceptable young woman is. In the second half of her career, her artistic identity is based around rejecting the societal norm of what an acceptable older woman is. I'm not really sure what else you expected. Again, if you don't enjoy the music or videos she is making at this point in her career that's your right to your opinion, but it doesn't mean that something is wrong with her because she isn't existing inside the box you feel comfortable with her being in.

 

And I respectfully disagree with you that the video would receive the same criticism towards a younger woman, unless you have just been living under a rock and missed a large amount of the music videos released in the last decade that are lauded as being body positive, sex positive, and empowering.

While I do think it's been a long time since she has made a truly great album, Madame X was at least her most adventurous and experimental work in a long time with some of her greatest work in years, and I personally think this new remix is good and I enjoyed a few of the other recent remixes she has released.

Why does ATRL think everything Madonna does is “wrong” or “destroying her legacy”? The only truly cringey thing she does is facetune tf out of her social media photos (wish she’d stop), but she’s not the only celeb to do that, so it’s not like some standalone case. Otherwise, she’s out here living life, enjoying herself, and making and releasing whatever she wants. Y’all just mad she’s not 25-30 anymore.

Exactly. God Control is quintessential Madonna and it was 3 years ago.

 

This version of Hung Up is actually quite good too and the vid is fun. 

I’ll always love and cherish her & her music but these past few years I’m just trying to ignore most of what she does. She’s out of touch and going from the most successful female artist of all time to not even charting changed her and I’m trying to keep it cute

It's like she has regressed to the mindset of a teenager who thinks doing drugs and kissing girls is super edgy and rebellious. She did that stuff 30 years ago but at least it looked super stylish and moody (Justify My Love video). This just looks tacky and cheap.

Nothing happened, she is living her best life with her wonderful children and absolutely no regrets attitude. Stop trying to put Madonna into a box that she would be out of.

That´s my main problem with her

She used to be different to the mainstream, and that was her cool factor. She used to do things nobody else tried before her, and she succeeded on breaking barriers because of that.

Now she's just doing whatever some teens do nowadays and pretend to call it "vanguardist" just because she´s 64
