To be honest I think HTE should've been the lead but they could've capitalised on the two-part nature of the song by using the first half as a teaser (maybe audio to a visualiser?) and then dropped the full song a couple of weeks later with the album announcement. 

I think the image shift happened too quickly. It should have been something she slowly eased into overtime. The Vogue shoot came out of nowhere and was very off brand for her. The swift image shift (baggy clothes, green hair, tom boy-esque attire to blonde ambition, heels, corsets, etc) + lackluster singles (that sounded more like album tracks) were a recipe for disaster imo.

 

I also think Billie could have stretched this era out a bit more like she did with her debut. Oxytocin should have been given a music video to revive it a bit, Overheated, too. I remember hearing rumors she was filming a video for Oxytocin but not sure if that was true or what happened with that. But overall, it was a successful era all things considered, but could have been even bigger with different lead singles despite the backlash from the Vogue shoot and image shift. If the singles were Happier Than Ever, Oxytocin, and Billie Bossa Nova, I don't think the backlash would have been as intense.

 

TLDR; pick different lead singles.

my future should’ve been an album track; NDA or happier than ever could’ve been the lead idk

to be honest I would just truncate the whole era by like 3 months  why was the album announced like three months ahead with multiple singles being dropped from it at the same time

Happier Than Ever (song) was the MOMENT. She really messed up by releasing 5(?) mediocre tracks to kill all of her hype before releasing that masterpiece.

 

The album rollout should have been simple. Happier Than Ever (song) teaser alongside album announcement about 5 weeks before album release. Then release HTE (song) with video 4 weeks before album release.

 

Release Therefore I Am with a video alongside the album release.

 

Pick a ballad and release a video another 1-2 months after album release.

My Future is simply not a single material, let alone lead single. Literally any other song would've done better.

Some people here are saying HTE should be the lead but that's not a smart move. People would keep comparing it with the rest of the album to disappointing results.

No singles before the album, surprise album release with title track being the release single.

I think she should have made it more relatable, less about the isolation of being rich and famous and more about just feeling lonely in empty spaces in general. Then perhaps the visuals of her alone in a mall, alone in the stadium etc would have been perceived differently. It felt a bit out of touch like she was flexing.

I think these two options work

-Surprise drop, with HTE (s) being pushed as a single with a mv, then having a few post album singles, like NDA or oxytocin 

 

Or….

-scrap my future (even tho I like it)

-TIAM as a lead on November worked right 

-NDA as a promo single alongside the album pre-save, the vogue cover, and the blonde hair reveal 

-HTE (s) being teased two weeks before the album, and the song dropping as the 2nd single one week prior to the album with radio deal and the mv

-Album drop 

-make your power a single even if it flops, this would’ve dropped after the HTE hype slows down 

-end the era with either oxytocin, BBN or getting older as final single

This is so common in these fan planning threads It only works if the era isn't meant to have more than one or two singles. 

Release HTE as the lead and maybe only single.

Record a good ballad that people can relate to and include on the album

Mental illness

There were only two viable singles on this album: “Therefore I Am” and the title track. The album should’ve been released right after she announced it in April 2021 alongside the title track’s music video. TIA was #1 on pop radio at the time so it had already done its job.

November: Therefore I Am (droplet, full single)

 

2021:

April: Billie Bossa Nova (full single with album pre-order and blonde hair reveal)

May: Your Power (promo single with MV)

June: I Didn't Change My Number (promo single with MV)

July: Happier Than Ever (full single)

October: Oxytocin (MV for fans)

December: Halley's Comet (MV for fans)

No one's reading that. Focus on Familia being OUT of literally every chart ever

 

Lost Cause just shouldn’t have been released and the album should’ve come in May instead of July. A lot of mess occurred between Your Power and the album release that hindered its success.

OT: This album was more arts not charts. But def Oxytocin and HTE should’ve been earlier singles. Your Power as a promo single.

i would start the era with happier than ever (s) following with billie bossa nova and nda or your power as final single... she wasted time releasing lost cause
