April 2021 : Therefore I Am/Oxytocin (double single release) -> Therefore I Am sent to Pop/HAC/AC, Oxytocin to Alternative

June : my future (promotional single) - a sight to more ballad before the album

July : album release + Happier Than Ever -> sent to Pop/HAC/AC

She had immense hype at the beginning of the era, but the drastic shift in image as well as the many bad single choices killed it before the album was even released. Your Power, despite being the best song on the album imo, was a bad single choice. Lost Cause was even worse.

 

Had Happier Than Ever (song) been released instead of Your Power, the entire era would look much different.

It was a great album but no real big hits beyond happier than ever. Maybe that and therefore I am and then release a video for the fans with your power at the end.

Just because 5 out of 6 of them beyond bombed to oblivion and did irreversible damage to her career and public reception, doesn't mean they weren't official singles.

 

She should've dropped it the week it was announced. Everyone wanted the title track and she gave us three other songs that the audience didn't want. I understand they wanted the physicals ready for a huge first-week, but her hype waned as a consequence, and people started to develop issues with her attitude throughout interviews and videos. If she didn't have such a long rollout, i'm positive the hype of her first debut album would have translated better to her new one. She could've dropped the physicals slowly just like Taylor did. HTE (song) was done dirty. It could've smashed as much as G4U that summer if it had been the first single post-announcement (since Therefore I Am and My Future were already out by then)

 

Anyways it all turned out fine for her and now she's been surprise dropping lol

lmao i love how you hate her. those feist leftovers did just fine for what they were and the tour is doin good numbers. i think billie is one of the few new cats that can always go full alternative and flop with artistic vision once her pop stardom time is over
