I don't think this makes much sense, honestly. She was booking 2k - 5k capacity venues during the Crash tour. It's obvious there was a huge marketing plan behind brat and they had a lot of faith in it.

Brat was a fluke but I disagree on the "she never aimed for it to be as big as it was" because she announced both The Sweat Tour and a UK arena tour before the album was even out.

The way I went to twitter just to confirm she really DID play it at the Berlin listening party and I wasn't going crazy and yeah… I don't understand why she'd play it if it's not on the album

What's really confusing about this is I remember her saying something along the lines of this album being "full of stuff you'd hear at European nightclubs during the 2010s" :/ keeping my expectations really now unfortunately

Not true. It's on the album under a different name. Also, Fairy Tale is one of the 2 more-on-the-ballad-side moments of the album, has a male vocalist as a feature and iirc it's a re-imagined cover of this South African song:

Yeah 100% while there are still pop elements on the album which are quite evident on midtempo "Fantasy" (I think that's what it's called lol it's the one with a featured male vocalist that comes right after IS IT on the tracklist), I feel like the album is still very typical Tyla in the most positive way possible.

To be honest they joked about it being an exclusive for the listening party today but at the same time they said it'll be released soon (?) so we were kind of confused tbh lol Her verse was like insanely good though cjdnsnsns I hope it gets released

Very solid album. If it was played in its entirety there are 2 more features: a male vocalist that I couldn't identify and an amapiano female artist. I didn't hear any snippets but I saw some of you saying the aesthetic didn't match the album and I kinda disagree? There are slower / midtempo moments but if my memory doesn't fail it's just 2 out of the 10 new songs played. Everything else is something you can dance to - even one of the "slower" songs is danceable. Nonchalant, That Girl and Nobody Else (not certain about the title for this one, but the chorus goes something like "you don't need / want nobody else") are my favorites and feel like the heavy hitters of the album. A remix of viral german song Gut Genug featuring Tyla was played and should be released soon. A tour was confirmed.

Mind you there's 12 albums on the pic: 5 of them are Grammy winners and other 5 can still be nominated in the future (Pink can still be nominated for Stateside Remix). Only Jessie Ware is left out of the (future) Grammy discourse here so I don't know why you're talking about Grammys 🪦
