Kim Petras - "Problematique"

Featured Replies

It's the Sam feature and i think it's almost *safe* to say that it is her single, intended for her album as the lead. BunheadHQ also teased they're excited for the "next chapter", so this weekend was probably the closure for the **** Pop era.

I hope her activities for the new album starts next month and Republic don't fxck this up with a messy schedule, Kim and Sam also better shoot the vid in time for the song's release.

I only pray the SIut Pop era is DONE. Also, BHQ teasing about the next chapter is more like an omen. They jinx and over-hype her at every turn.

Nothing on this leaked album is anywhere near being in the same league as the majority of her catalogue. Icy, Do Me, Heart to Break, IDWIAA, There Will Be Blood, Malibu. They’re literally some of the most well-crafted and catchy straightforward pop songs we’ve had in years and not a single one of the Problematique songs has the same level of energy and they’re just no memorable.

I am interested to hear this supposed Sam collab, though. That seems like such a random pairing to me. Kim is an absolutely incredible vocalist but I wonder how her tone will mesh with Sam’s. Kim’s music styling also requires her voice to always have that auto-tune, echo effect on it, even while she performs live so I wonder how she’ll sound without it as it would sound very weird to have Sam’s organic vocals next to Kim’s heavily edited and synthesized vocals (no dig on Kim because she’s got pipes, they just make such different music).

Finally got around to sorting the new tracks into my playlist, going to go with this track list until we get Keep It and/or Runway Walk.

1. Future Starts Now

2. All She Wants (ft. Paris Hilton)

3. Sex Talk

4. Je t'Adore

5. Hit It From the Back

6. Coconuts

7. Love Ya Leave Ya

8. Confession

9. Revelations

10. Deeper

11. Somethin' About You

12. Ur Time to Cry

13. Problématique

14. Dance to Forget (Bonus Track)
15. Left My Body (Bonus Track)

16. Born Again (Bonus Track)

I've called the album Problématique (Sluttier Edition) and have a bonus second disc with the **** Pop tracks (unpopular opinion but these still knock!), bookended by "Kim Kim Kim" and "Treat Me Like a Hoe".

ok tea: i ran into Kim at the Banks concert tonight (super sweet, btw) and we talked about Problematique..

she was very optimistic and says she’s been working with Max Martin now! good things are coming!! :jonny5:

I know I posted a tracklist earlier but I think I have a perfect one pieced together :gayalipacat4:I saw someone say the standard tracklist was confirmed to be 12 tracks, and we know there were at least 17 tracks, so it's not unreasonable to say the deluxe has the 6 extra leaked tracks. I tried to think exclusively songs that she performed/teased because it makes sense that she wouldn't tease the deluxe tracks to keep them a surprise.

1. FSN

2. Je T'adore

3. Born Again

4. Hit It From the Back

5. Coconuts

6. Problematique

7. Ur Time to Cry

8. Revelations

9. All She Wants

10. Confession

11. Deeper

12. Something About You

Everything else is on a deluxe edition

Oh wow. Oh wow.

This is huge. I feel like they could really create a masterpiece together. I wonder if Luke will be involved, because him and Max have not worked together in ten (?) years?

Can't stop listening to Revelations.. A career highlight imo.

Favorites are: The Future Starts Now (which is funny, because when I first heard this song, I wasn't as impressed, but it's grown on me), Problematique, Born Again, All She Wants (the best track on here, EASILY-- if Kim doesn't officially release this song at some point in the future, we truly will have to riot), and Revelations.

Songs like Coconuts and Treat Me Like a Hoe would land if the production went harder. The lyrics are deliciously tongue-in-cheek, but the production on these tracks don't do campy sex songs like this any favors.

Are we sure there’s still Luke songs on the album ?

Of course, after all she's still signed to him. I doubt he would let her release an album without his songs.

Probably even the first singles will be his productions - i'm thinking something similar to Planet Her. Multiple producers but first singles with Luke's imput.

Pressure (from the Candy album) just leaked :bird:

cute. has potential

Pressure is a whole ass bop. The chorus is very The Weeknd CFMC/MJ. It's also giving me TOTL mixed with Malibu

That whole Candy album is a lie btw (like everything about this woman), it’s a collection of scrapped songs from her entire career. Pressure is a few years old too and previously pitched to Kpop artists.

i knew something was up about this other album. the way she mentioned it so casually even though it's supposedly half Problematique tracks and created as recently as Coconuts/HIFTB. The timeline just doesn't add up.

Tbh I figured that she couldn’t have actually made that album in such a short time but what I thought could be more likely is that she did genuinely pitch that collection of songs to her label as a potential album? Like, to be reworked/finished up/finalized if approved or whatever? Maybe I’m reaching idk

Btw any chance you could ever share the track order for Problématique? I know you’re not a fan but would be really nice if it’s something you know :katie:

You're not reaching at all. I'm sure that's what the collection of songs served as. Possible re-works brought to the label just to see if any could work. I'm sure it was one of those bright bulbs at BHQ who thought it'd be fun to create a fantasy album with old tracks and call it Candy. They stay f_cking with fans
