"Bad Idea", "In My Head", and "How I Look On You" (should've been moved from the Charlie's Angels Project and become a re-release lead alongside extra track "ReMeMber") were all RIGHT THERE as subsequent singles.

the way it could still be fixed if she added all of the droplets on the other editions of the project to the digital version. I'm sure "Bad Liar", "Back To You", "Wolves", "Fetish", and "It Ain't Me" would throw the album back on the charts and help w/ future certifications.

the era only lasted for about three months sadly. however it was quite eventful in the months leading up to the album.

TU,N is about to have every album track cross 200m+ streams on Spotify soon, is eligible for 4x Platinum and charted 160 weeks on the BB200. 

 

BTW has had 4 Top 10 hits in a row and already crossed 4x Platinum in the US. The lead single is an established pride classic.

The way all the momentum for that era just COLLAPSED after her dog died.

the TUN era ended upon release and it still charted for over 3 years, how is an album that charted that long a front loaded era? 
If y’all wanted to drag Ariana you can use Sweetener as a better example (sadly), it deserved better tho 

 

OT: albums with huge hit singles and ended up as underperformances come to mind, 30 started off strong but now it’ll barely chart a year, Rare too because LYTLM was a big moment but after the AMAs it all went downhill 

Bangerz too considering it only charted for like a year

Thank U, Next - despite the fact that it spent like 3 years on the bb200, I’m quite shocked it’s already off the chart. This felt like it was poised to be the next Teenage Dream/1989 back when the era first kicked off, so seeing it being OUT already in the streaming era while other 2019 pop albums are still charting just fine is kinda shocking. This definitely seemed like it was gonna easily outlast Lover & WWAFA but it’s just not the case afterall. Feels more like an iconic singles collection in hindsight, but a frontloaded album as a whole.

 

reputation - it’s showing promising longevity but it’s total units relative to its 1.2m first week are definitely serving born this way tease 

 

Rare - the era kicked off with a #1 debut despite the fact that she dropped the song on a WEDNESDAY, the worst possible day for a debut, but the era completely fell apart after the AMA performance and apart from its week at #1 on the bb200, the era fizzled immediately. 
 

Renaissance is my guess as to who will be joining the list next tbh

You can’t compare between the 2 eras tho. At the end of the day born this way was a digital-era release, and 40% of its success came from its first week.

 

The SPS figures for most 2010s albums are inflated, because the exact same people who bought a pure copy shifted to streaming it just a couple years after the fact. 

Born This Way is the most dramatic example for me. Very frontloaded and only lasted 9 months in the digital era where eras easily lasted over a year!

Born This Way and 30. High debuts to total freefall.

I am interpreting front-loaded to mean lots of promotion before the album release. My answer would then be Charli by Charli XCX.

 

That album had 3 music videos and 6 singles-- official and promotional singles combined-- before the album was released.

it spent 56 weeks on the chart which is 13 months, not 9.

 

born this way is not that frontlodad as you  made it to be, it still generated 75% of it's units after it's first week and made about 4.3 units which is a lot.  it's third and forth single smashed and it's tour did amazing and it was a year after the album. it is also having decent reccurent streams with multipule big songs and the alubum did 1 million yesterday which is on par or more than coldplay album from that year, talk taht talk,all of beyonce albums bar sasha and one of the boys. 

 

album wise, MDNA is the honest answer with 300,000 first week and bearly scanning gold. the single was also extreamly frotlodad in the us. however the mdna tour was huge

 

and about born this way, was not that frotlodad  in other markets( the us is not alone in the world and the era was global):

 

australia: 15 weeks inside top 10

uk: 12 weeks inside top 10 and 3 weeks inside no 1

new zealand: 13 weeks

france: the album charted for 15 months which is not easy on the market of france

germany: 12 weeks inside the top 10

italy: 12 weeks

sweden: 16 weeks inside top 20

spain: 11 weeks inside top 10

That's irrelevant... the era was dead by the end of 2011. No one claims that the Born to Die era lasted a whole decade because it's still on the BB200

well, the tour was a part of the era and lasted from 2012 to early 2013. it was also a huge tour so you can't judt dismiss it easily
