Lets say it had a 71% sales decline from evermore.  How would Swifties react?  Would they abandon her?  Something tells me yes because as far as it seems all they hold on to it sales and charts;  Are  they just success stans?

evermore had relatively low (for Taylor's standards) first week sales of 329K since it was only available digitally at the time. It sold another 200K when the vinyls became available several months after the initial release.  So TS10, if it has a full first-week rollout, will almost certainly open with much better numbers I mean, even Red TV sold 600K. A 70% decline is out of question. 

I kinda hope this happens. There's always been something smug/self-entitled about Taylor that I can't put my finger on.

 

This has also reflected on her fanbase.

also these dumb comments about the majority of the fandom being success stans, as if it matters when she never failed to deliver a bad album...

Her fanbase has literally been with her for 16 years. Why would a flop album make them leave her? They have literally been by her side when Kim and Kanye made her look like the biggest evil Psycho liar in the world. A flop album would be nothing. 

When a fanbase abandons an artist when they flop, it's because the artist never had a big base to begin with. Taylor was never a GP artist.

It's not happening. Swifties will consume even her fart sound. Remember Track 3?

 

 

It's kind of impossible  Like, even if the singles all flop it won't matter, her albums always smash and hype is sky high. I don't think she'll see a significant drop off in sales or relevancy until her later 30s, that's when she will probably be settled down and make less music. She'll still have the most impressive longevity of anyone sans Madonna.

Let’s just say it did happen, and her sales collapsed completely.

 

At this stage, I don’t think I’d care, if the music is good. I would prefer building on the quality of Evermore - my favorite non-rerecording studio album ever - over simply liking the material but seeing it sell a lot. It’s nice that Taylor is on track for a literally unprecedented amount of success by the end of her career, but if that stopped tomorrow, that’s fine if the music is still there. Massive success Is basically only good for stan wars and for almost guaranteeing an artist will still continue to release music.

 

There’s basically no chance in hell that this happens, though, after the rerecording era has made her standing with the public better than it’s been since like the 1989 era. I seriously wouldn’t be too shocked if 1989 TV opens with 800k+ and TS10 beats Folklore’s numbers. I feel like Red TV smashing out of nowhere is a sign that her recent activity has seriously changed her trajectory. Even without that, commercial consistency has always been the thing that makes Taylor stand out.

As if this will happen, she would never do below 200k first week. 

They’d resort to comments like “well she’s still the most streamed female artist” or “still more successful than your faves” and try to deflect the current situation with the past. I’m a fan, but her hardcore stans would not cope well.
 

Love Taylor though! And I’m sure this won’t happen anytime soon. 

Her stans wouldn't care but the endless numbers of threads that will be made about it would be one for the books.

 

Realistic speaking it's not likely to happen, at least not with this era, she will decline because that is normal but I doubt we'll see a straight up flop from her, at least not this decade.
