Lady Gaga

Let's also appreciate that the most impressive nomination here is actually probably for Disease. The song completely flopped as a lead - I mean, #27 peak for a Gaga lead is abysmal - and went under the radar for the GP, as they were too focused on making Gaga the Internet's Most Hated Woman for Joker at the time. I know the Grammys are supposed to be about quality, but let's be real, if that were the case then most categories would be taken up almost entirely by flops and unknown artists.

The fact that Disease got a nomination at all bodes really well for Gaga going into this year's Grammys. And I'm glad such a great song is being recognized, it deserved more!

why does pop vocal tend to be awarded to AOTY losers? i've seen it happen many times before, but i don't really get why they don't just vote for the same album in AOTY too :rip:

It's because you pay more attention to the pop field, albums winning their genre categories then losing AOTY (to another album that also won its genre category) is expected.

ngl, I am pissed at the Perfect Celebrity and Abracadabra MV snub. Those songs deserved too.

She needs to MOVE and campaign hard. She cannot sit still until February.

The best part about HQ being nominated (which was moved to the Jazz field starting this year), besides being vindication for JFAD pannings, is that it shows she has considerable support outside her home turf (Pop). The Jazz voting bloc is the second biggest after Pop and makes up for almost 19% of the body. If she can rally voters across different genre fields - Pop, Electronic/Dance, Jazz and then some from Rock/R&B/Visual Media etc. the AOTY could be hers but she has fierce competition in both Kendrick and Benito.

She needs to double and triple down on her year-long efforts and focus on maximizing her visibility over the next two months while still hammering home the overdue narrative. Total Mayhem and a newly spawned hit released during the voting period as rumoured currently would further boost her chances. The stars are slowly aligning and she's playing the game well. So excited to see how she converts her nomination campaign into a potential victory campaign now.

No music video nom for abracadabra is WILD but disease in best pop performance easily made up for it. AHHHHH song of the year did that.

Just realized Abra joins Shallow and Poker Face as her only songs with SOTY+ROTY nominations, all in three different decades:jonny:

Reading this makes me so excited :duca:

What else do you guys think she can do to campaign in the next few months?

Harlequin Special

Netflix Superbowl performance

MAYHEM Ball / extra shows documentary + film

TOTAL MAYHEM + new single

Maybe a new music video for one of the songs from the standard version (Vanish or Garden?)

Year end lists (both from critics and playlisting) will hopefully help a lot too!

makes sense, it's just the way people speak about it being a consolation prize as if voters see a certain album lose AOTY and think "let's give it best pop vocal so it least it has something" :giraffe:

If more music is not coming the least she can do is an unplugged version of the album and a MV for Vanish Into You or Shadow of a Man. If she was clever, a recording of the tour would be available to stream officially next month. But it hasn't even been recorded yet, so that ship has sailed.

Looked up pop solo song nominations and pretty much all of them are top 3 BB songs except Disease. Voters went out of their way to search for Gaga's name for this category and voted for her. :hippo:

Really hope Abra takes at least one of the big awards.

Considering the reactions online and the controversies surrounding the superbowl, I see Bad Bunny winning AOTY. And hey that album is good too. So don't get your hopes up.

Surprise VIY MV and then she'll release Vanish Into You (Can I?) for Grammys 2027 💋

and she needs to do the halftime Xmas Beymas thing with 'TOTAL MAYHEM' release

prayers kendrick and bunny split votes

I just want her to win something in the GF. She feels overdue that validation. AOTY would be the ultimate win, but Abra deserves its flowers too so I'd be happy for a SOTY or ROTY win. But she's not taking all three lol so it'll be an either or sort of situation (or none, I suppose) and I can't predict which one I think she's more likely to have a real chance of winning.

Edited by Jack!

I dont care about the grammys if she doesn't win album of the year and thats that from me.

Let's hope those voters are #Latinos4Trump and don't vote for their own.

Out of these? Hmm. I'm not sure about that Christmas Bowl, maybe it was just a one-off thing for Bey? And I would have LOVED a tour docu/film released but I don't think that's happening either or we'd know if they were filming during one of the shows. The rest range between could and will happen with the Deluxe seeming the likeliest atp based on rumors.

Regardless, I'm sure she already has stuff planned that she wants to incorporate in her campaign. She knows it's her best shot in a long time and today's nominations will boost her morale. The next couple months are going to be good for us content-wise. :duca:
