idk if you'll spend a lot of time in Tokyo but i went there for 11 days solo in february and everyone was very kind and helpful, people spoke english well and almost all the signs were in both japanese and english! i thought i'd have a hard time too, especially since i've heard japanese people hate tourists, but i quickly realized they don't hate tourists at all... they hate americans because they're loud and obnoxious and would always overstep the boundaries and social codes. they're very strict with no speaking on phones or not wearing headphones whilst riding public transport for instance. i noticed american tourists would just not care and behave however they wanted and that is simply not OK in a traditional country like Japan. and it is important to greet and thank them with a small bow. also learn the basics: konichiwa, hai, ie, arigato/arigato gozaimasu, gochiso sama deshita (thanks for the food).

I'm spending my whole trip in Tokyo! well 3 days im doing day trips to Nikko, Kamakura and Mount Fuji. and the fact that people are kind and people do speak english makes me feel better! i was really concerned about that  i can breathe a bit better now

Japan is very English friendly so your freak out isn't warranted, enjoy your trip!

I did the same earlier this year the week Mayhem dropped. Went to Mexico solo and it was life changing. Can't wait to hear about your trip. Please keep me posted
