Spotify is doing dirty to Dua Lipa with that Top of Most Streamed Albums i'm sorry... Idc, RIAA and IFPI counts all the songs for her album. They can count all the 40 songs of SOS LANA and 2 albums of KAROL G? Oh yeah, weird.

Yeah it's getting really annoying that she's not releasing anything. Like okay, the album might not be done but she's not even releasing any droplets, collabs, like ANYTHING. It really pisses me off that she now considers her off years to be truly OFF that's one thing I don't like about her, is that Dua can't just release music more freely. Everything has to be so tightly planned (and even then that proves to not always work, i.e. the MTV EMA 2023 performance not happening, the Training Season lead single release being replace by Houdini). It's so frustrating as a fan.

Everyone keeps releasing music frequently except for her.

On the plus side, if a few of the bigger pop girlies release this year, it hopefully won't be such stiff competition for DL4.

I genuinely think the hyperbole with her is ridiculous. Yeah, the constant brand deals are annoying, but does anyone think logically and look at the bigger picture? The brand deals are a GOOD thing. It means these companies have done their research, find her name/face still carries weight, and want her associated with their brand because she sells.

And expecting DL4 to come out in 2030 just because of the time between other releases is ridiculous too. Time between self titled and Future Nostalgia was because a) she was still trying to establish herself as an artist, One Kiss taking off probably shifted the focus, and she was touring forever. Time between Future Nostalgia and Radical Optimism? COVID, the tour getting pushed back to 2022, and then the change in management. There's reasons why her music took time, not just because she is a self-proclaimed perfectionist but in addition to external factors.

I would genuinely be surprised if the new era doesn't start before the three year anniversary of RO. Without anything else impacting her releases, I can see a typical three year gap between music for Dua, which isn't bad. Could go down to two years if she toured sooner instead of a year post-album release.

Hopefully the community text celebrating RO's anniversary is a tease for a tour-something being released as a final goodbye.

with how much she's been in the studio this year, I think the album will be done by end of summer. If the summer wedding rumors are true and I was her, I would have an internal deadline to have her main contributions done before the wedding to then have a break and honeymoon before kicking off the new era. We'll see but either way I never doubt she's working on so much at once, be it music or other things

I do thiiink something is coming based on what I've been told via the person with the outtakes. I don't have any confirmation of what it is going to be and I feel like it'll likely just be a digital release but it feels very on brand for the RO era to end with them teasing something then radio silence for a week before it gets announced.
