I'm not sure about all this rumors of Dua releasing new music in Q4 but she usually always release music at this time.

Don't get me wrong, it isn't really a bad time to release music like I know the 'Houdini' situation was bad but we can't only blame Christmas.

In 2019, 'Don't Start Now' being released before 2020 was an AMAZING choice, it was the perfect shift for music that year from 10s to 20s!

Now in 2023, both Warner and Dua set high expectations about 'DL3' during 2023 and 'Houdini' as a lead single was very similar to the nu-disco formula of other Dua's songs like 'Training Season' being released in 2023 would have changed EVERYTHING (but sadly they scrapped everything).

So... it's all about the material of this new album! They have to focus in spreading in a good way the new music, people are always excited about Dua's career because of how she likes to evolve and try to challenge herself since her debut so evolving into a more mature and distinct material with Mark Ronson (Soul/Rock/R&B) could be so great!!!

Maybe album cover + album shoot? I doubt they have shot a music video already tbh

Also please no more five months between the lead single and the album.. all her momentum was dead by the time the album came out cause Billie, Charli, Sabrina, Taylor and Chappell were tagteaming her left right and center I know some of those aren't releasing right now but you never know.

Her celebrity is 10x bigger now, so the era and the music have to be as perfect as FN if she wants to sell out her tour. RO tour was basically FN tour 2.0, she needs new hits.

That was a real mistake, 'Radical Optimism' should have been released in February with 'Training Season' (it would have debuted with 30M in that case).

Omg yes, releasing RO the week of the grammys, with TS as album release single would've been perfect. It was clear that Houdini wasn't doing anything. Also different album cover.

I never understand why they released Training Season a week LATER of the performance at the GRAMMYs...

It was terrible and when Training Season was finally 'stable' in March they decide to drop the song to release Illusion in APRIL.

They probably think if they pushed the album more close to Summer Season it would have more time to Smash or have another Hit after Houdini's underperformance.

Honestly that was the perfect timing, even those 80k sales will be enough to top the charts in some weeks from Feb to April 2024
