  1. Not true! They actually offered Sky the WH soundtrack first, but she couldn't meet the deadline so she forced Charli to finish it. Then Sky basically repeated that mistake again for Music, Fashion, Film. That was also originally a Sky project that was unfinished, that's why it sounds like that. Charli has worked really hard to prevent her from getting in trouble, but Sky is kind of a bad friend. :/
  2. That is definitely Tate McRae!
  3. Ready for the follow up to this being her Hejira!
  4. So many artists have tried to make this album but could literally never.
  5. I was just thinking about this recently! She was able to make an album that at times perfectly encapsulates the feeling of summer. It is aging fairly well. That being said, I still don't think it is fully resolved. This project is not 'feral' by any means. Potentially, her biggest issue as an artist is that she cannot properly talk about or describe her own albums despite being a strong writer. It just seems like she picks up ideas throughout the process of making an album, but by the end it doesn't have the same meaning as when she started. I understand SP better now, but it was not helped by her newsletter or interviews. She might benefit from an editor prior to the next release, or saying nothing and doing a surprise drop.
  6. I prefer this to On Wires, and could see this growing on me more. It feels like it actually meets the premise of the Day side. Really do not love the pre-chorus and chorus on this. The verses feel like a different, better idea entirely.
  7. "An alleged dog" and "makes it's/their alleged way down some steps" is taking me out!
  8. Thank you @HonourableVomit for the insight and humbling commentary! The journey was thoroughly entertaining. Loved that my pronouns were consistently she/her! I'm not a doll, simply a 5' 8" queenie.
  9. Ok then DO NOT read my comment for that track
  10. Who The **** is a song that will always get me amped, and maybe the song that made me absolutely love Miss Harvey. Supreme-ly hard of hearing: You were wrong for this comment and the Joni Mitchell one, too.
  11. Okay the editorializing has been cute up until now, but that is NOT what I did!
  12. Is this about Let England Shake because let's wake that up
  13. Submitted my ballot @HonourableVomit! Excited to see the responses.
  14. Remember when people speculated that the album name was "Algo-Rhythm"? 💀
  15. The chorus (especially at the end) getting a little too "stomp clap hey" for my liking
  16. Honestly perfect way to follow up and celebrate the album. She is sharing so much that artists would normally hate revealing. I like the spoken word part at the end of Trying/David.
  17. Should have known that the evolutionary endpoint of this DJ/Producer electronic revival would be the reinvention of Breathe Carolina.
  18. Working through my rankings, it will be submitted. Thank you Mx. Vomit!
  19. I will only listen to female and queer artists and no one in this forum will convince me otherwise OT: Interesting how the gendered aspects of art and performance are being discussed in contrasting ways here. I do think male artists are seen as some sort of default, where the listener trusts them implicitly. I'm also seeing people get pretty reductive about female artists and their image, which is part of the problem!
  20. Melodrama has one of the defining qualities that I love in music, which is all-encompassing emotional impact. Every feeling is monumental. This album will always be a blueprint.
  21. Do you know what it means to get the Faye Webster stamp of approval? Lil Yachty is here to stay idc
  22. The Oscars: Now why am I in it?
  23. She could have just made some announcement about Modelland and had a career resurgence the likes of which she's never seen before but no
