  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

I can’t believe y’all are listening to the leak ?. I’ve been off Twitter and Atrl for the last 5 hours, keeping myself distracted so I’ve honestly not heard anything. For the girlies who are holding out, y’all are the real champs. We’ll talk come Friday July 29th

Bey's opps camped out in this thread :jonny5:she truly runs this ****.

She finally got rid of that fake deep voice and that's one of the reasons I love this album.

Her tone sounds so relaxed and natural here.

I'm not sure it was fake or forced? I think post twins, her voice really changed (we can see at OTR II vs other tours, she used a smaller range and was much more conservative with her vocals) and she adjusted by making the key to her songs lower and singing in a way that was more comfortable for her. But this album proves she's still the vocal GOAT and can access her typical (expansive) range

I don't wanna be negative but I have a feeling this album may get the worst reviews she'd had since IASF. There's just something about the effusive responses from the Hive in here that says the critics are gonna say the opposite :deadbanana2:

Most people seem to like it? I don’t care tbh, when you have critics asking why can’t they be rude about her, just shows they want to be and will hate her no matter what she puts out.

This could arguably be her best album production-wise… So I don’t think she’s getting less than 80 on metacritic.

Yup def a stylistic choice of hers. Her tone rn is immaculate and I was very scared after BMS thinking her voice changed forever :rip: . She can sound light when she wants to and I was def surprised.

I'd say Plastic Off The Sofa reminds me of the ethereal vibes of DIL. Just like Cuff It radiates 4's energy :jonny2:

This is one of my biggest surprises of the album. She isn't doing her deep voice that she has on BMS and all her songs since 2019. I really thought she wasn't comfortable singing like old bey anymore but she delievered :jonny4:

Spoiler

There was one song, I think it was Thique? Maybe I’m wrong but she sounded like a completely different person in one part. It literally sounded like a feature. I was like “Who is this white girl on this track?” :ahh:

I won't lie, I care a little bit. But it won't affect how I enjoy the album.

It's gonna be hard especially tomorrow when it'll be serving so close and yet so far teas, but I promised myself I'm listening at 12 midnight and I'm sticking to it :jonny3:

I KNOW IM NOT CRAZY. IS THAT THE FORD ALERT BEEP I HEAR BEING SAMPLED?! You know, the one where the door is left open lmao.

The overwhelmingly positive response is making me nervous, I really want to listen :rip:

I’m off of work. I’m about to play the album in its entirety from start to finish in my car (I only heard one and a half song before I went to work). Here we go :jonny5:

It’s true it’s true. What are your faves

Spoiler

Its so so overwhelming at first and second listen.

I think my fav song has to be, and im surprised to say it, Heated. Its catchy, its vibey, its quite commercial, and the end is just fabulous! Its giving Check On It cheekiness and im living for it.

Then Im a sucker for Cuff It as a super nice throwback to 4-yonce. Definitely the second single in the US and a bop.

Alien Superstar is really great, but also super Experimental. Itll take me a bit to really fall in love, but it has the potential for sure.

Plastic Off the Sofa is the DIL-throwback song I didnt know I need. So slick, the best vocal performance on the album. Phew a moment.

Lastly Summer Renaissance. An incredible ending, the song has all the best Elements of Renaissance and actually sounds like I thought the entire album would sound. The sample is incredible, her voice stunning, its groovey, unexpected, mature. Wonderful track!

Urs?

Spoiler

I don't know what to feel :deadbanana2: there is so much going on and I know I'm going to change my mind a thousand times.

What I know is that I need a visual for all of this because I want to experience and appreciate the whole concept, which as of now is still a little obscure to me...

Still, vocal production is out of this world and most of the songs are so complex while still being catchy and fun... she's very much in her prime artistically and musically.

Unpopular opinion: I'm that girl is actually one of my favs for now

the critics better come to their senses. they underrated the gift awfully. and bms was praised, but not as much as formation.

the album is very experimental sounding, so hopefully they will get it. the only thing the could maybe critique is lyrics, but it's such a good natured album they really shouldn't focus too much on that

Perhaps forced. She just had to sing more vocal challenging songs in order to break free from that condition. Resentment was the only impressive vocal moment at that time.

Her Kobe Bryant tribute was a proof of how her voice didn't actually change that much. In fact, her tone now has turned brighter.

I haven't been here for Beyoncé since ST because I wasn't a fan of LEMONADE...

I'm loving RENAISSANCE so far. The production is pretty much second to NONE. That is a FACT. Her vocal delivery is also top notch which I expect nothing less from her. I'd love to see this record live. If this is what we have for act i then I can't wait for act ii and maybe even act iii. I'm glad after so many years in her career she is still capable of delivering some of her BEST. I hope this gets its flowers because this is Beyoncé at her best.

sooooo many layers. the album is bright, fun, loose, unusual. :chick3:

Two days before the release, on July 27, the album leaked in full. The leak came as a shock, as Beyoncé's operation is famously among the most secure in the music industry

Its also annoying because it completely lacks the nuance and context of the fact its her first first week physical release in over ten years.
