Yeah I think its silly to do all these extra steps to stream excessively/buy the song 20 times. It goes against what I believe Bey wants of her fans in the first place :gaycat6:

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

Bey: if i gave two fucks about streaming numbers...

The album is like an hour long. We don’t need streaming tricks to curb billboard’s silly rules. Just listen to it all day on a paid streaming service (Spotify free streams count less)

And if you can, buy a physical copy

Spotify and Apple both offer free premium trials.

I just had to double check if Cozy was a real song because literally no one even mentions it when discussing the upcoming tracks :deadbanana2:

Dont be delusional guys, 40 is something to pay attention to in the grand scope of pop as a woman.

There IS a reason that Mariah, Madonna, and Tina were seen as having comeback eras when they all did it.

We are in a different era and time with the consumption of music, but the rules remain the same.

You succeed at the metric of measurement available: streaming

or you are seen as a failure!

Those with Spotify could buy AM for a month and stream it on there too. Would help the album too.

You can also buy Tidal subscription, it will be even more streams :gaycat4:

ALSO

DON'T DOWNLOAD IT TO YOUR LIBRARY (I think you can add it, but if you download it, it doesn't count)

STREAM IT FROM THE MUSIC STORE

I forgot we are getting the tshirt designs this week. The fact that besides the artworks, they are going to be the only visuals of the era so far :deadbanana2:

Hopefully they upload the pictures in HD on her website too

Someone told me they still count. It just waits until you're on wifi to register them

not saying bey doesn’t care about success or streaming numbers or something bc she does. but people trying to do the most to push the song up? i don’t think she wants that either she likes her success organic and gmo free. that’s why she just let bms take off on it’s own instead of trying to push it to a big debut cuz if it fell right after that would look even worse than a dud

Agreed. I just placed my order on the boxset and wait calmly for it to arrive or stream on Spotify if I like the song. Never liked the idea of mass buying (look at BTS and Nicki's Trolls).

At least Art Hive and Chart Hive both want Bey to be successful. Art Hive is aiming for organic longevity and Chart Hive wants impressive stats (esp for a woman 40+).

Both are valid and important so no complaints.

Don't forget, it's the music BUSINESS

They still trying to turn a coin, it's how they pay the huge amounts of people they employ.

Break My Soul has been on REPEAT because of album hype :WAP:

True.

That said, not to be divisive or biased, but I feel it's mainly Chart Hive that dually get why quality and commercial success are vital in a way Art Hive don't always.

With Art Hive, I think there's sometimes the neglect of what commercial success means/allows for Bey.

I often see "I don't care about the charts, just enjoy the music" etc. The reality is that hit music (singles and albums) allow for hit tours, the big budget visual deals she's cutting to express her artistry on scale, and an array other ventures that allow her to be...Queen.

I sometimes feel like those that enjoy the fruits and freedom of her Queendom sometimes negate what goes into sustaining it in the first place.

I struggle to believe that a lot of those that are purely Art Hive would/could take her moving like the non-commercial indie act. Which is why numbers and performance (which are key metrics when going into meetings with Netflix, Disney, Adidas) are indeed important.

I care for charts cause duh butttttttt I ain't doing all those extra miles just to get bragging rights on ATRL/Stan Twitter. Streaming parties and buying multiple copies of said song/album through loopholes? Leave that to the babies cause chile

Sorry to break to you guys but Beyonce audience is too grown for her to benefit from any of these streaming tactics. Do all you want but unless an artists primary audience is tweens who dedicate their life to supporting them, sales are going to be determined by organic interest. You're better of just exposing the music to your friends and family

LOOOL. True.

I think Team Bey have that covered.

The fact they are playing the whole vinyl, different covers, limited editions game is telling. It's just savvy marketing to get people to buy multiple copies of the album. There's a huge market for collectibles.

I will never forget reading something about BTS somehow selling like 300k from <40k actual transactions.

I don't feel Bey's streaming shortcomings are lost on Columbia, which is why I think they are going hard with the physicals and various editions.
