OMFGGG NOOO!!! Because why in tf were my roomies watching the music video she just dropped at our AirBnB and I literally saw the EXACT SAME THING. It was such a bad song too like omfg. 
 

But I literally was like there have been literally ZERO MPG's that have been wanting or hinting to do a rock era especially very reminiscent of Tina and Prince other than Bey. And then all of a sudden Lizzo comes out with THIS?

I literally broke a heel running in here to see if anyone would bring up Lizzo. It's …interesting.

 

Bey will be fine any which angle. 
 

Either Lizzo flops and Bey swoops in with "how it's really done". Or Lizzo does well (or well enough) and scene sets for Bey to come on and benefit from it. Kinda like the while Funk/Dance revival that preceded Rennie. 
 

 

I don't think Lizzo is doing a rock era. Still there won't be a conversation around it even if the song smashes because Beyoncé has already done rock for Cowboy Carter. Lizzo already did disco right before Renaissance and nothing happened.

 

Rock influencies have been coming and going in pop ever since Olivia smashed with good 4 u tho, I don't necessarily think Lizzo is trying to get ahead of Beyoncé either.

Well none of these heaux has the musicality and vision of Beyonce. Lets also not forget how Bey works on her albums for years and you can tell by the sheer quality. They are playing checkers while our Queen is playing chess

Lizzo is a beyonce stan  why would she try and out-do her lol. Rock influences and glam rock influences have been in for a while now - look at Harry and Benson (I dont like their music but theyre inspired by glam rock for sure). Lizzo is probably eating those nachos more than she is craving Beyonce's. And also...like...she's allowed to do rock. It's her heritage too.

 

Drake's Future Nostalgia was gross and everyone clocked his tea but this feels small in comparison. Besides, she's gonna be touring her yeehaw era for another year.

I don't listen to Lizzo regularly, but this song doesn't seem out of her wheelhouse whatsoever. Seems like something that could have been on her last album.

 

and if we're all being honest here - Beyoncé just waits too long to present her art, which is why people then attribute dance revivals to Drake and movie albums to Abel and now rock revivals to Lizzo (though I don't know anybody who has ever accused her of copying anyone when she does release)

What's funny to me is that her song sounds a loooot like NERD from back in the day, and we know Bey has worked with Pharrell, so who knows if we get another Work It Out or a She Wants To Move.
