I actually feel like this was so iconic and showed the public Beyonce is not into **** with. We all know how fiercely protective B is with family and her man, but ppl clocked that after incidents like this

Its very hard to judge a situation you are not part of. Maybe that woman was obnoxious, maybe she was too fangirly, maybe she was shady... theres a million reasons why Bey decided to ignore the hell out of her, and the reasons might be very valid

I also remember Andrew designed a single cover way way back for Normani ("Slow Down" x "Checklist"), but Beyonce's day-to-day creative director Kwasi Fordjour now does most of Normani's creative direction.

As someone who has long ben fascinated by the "Business of Beyonce", Bey has been switching out her team across creative, choreo, A&R, and more for a hot minute. In terms of her most recent teams, I'd say since about BIK is when the biggest changes occurred - moreso in terms of "how" she works.

 

What used to be long-term, almost salary-like roles for a lot of the people in her creative orbit (that we've come to know and love from BTS, docs etc), now seems a bit more freelance and per project/era-based.

 

Take Fatima Robinson, for example. She was onboarded for that lil cluster of Oscars, Dubai and RWT. This included her team of assisting choreographers and a bunch of dancers routinely in her productions etc. And then just when you think it's the "new" core Bey team, they had no involvement in Xmas Halftime and presumably the same for CCWT.

 

The Bey Team of before used to stretch across all of her eras and she doesn't seem to be on that vibe anymore. 

 

My gut tells me it's probably a combination of: a) never letting anyone get too comfortable/complacent with a false sense of a "job for life", b) recharging her own creative energy by always bringing in fresh talent/ideas, and c) giving her work distinct look, feel, sound, and individuality. 

 

I say all of this to say, I wouldn't be surprised if she has moved on from Andrew. Or moved him to work exclusively on other projects at Parkwood (Chloe, Halle). Or simply reached the end of her latest contract with him.

I liked a lot of what Andrew did but I also think his approach seemed a bit devoid of joy? It was very icy and cool. And that's fine and fun but I definitely think his vision probably contributed to the stale 'icy glare into the camera' vibes that was her brand from around 2017 - 2021. It left a whole generation thinking she took herself super seriously and didnt have much of a personality, and I am so overjoyed that she's finally being silly again. Even this Cowboy Carter era, for all the serious music, is incredibly campy. Her lingerie cowgirl billboard, her Jolene outfit from the music video, her Dolly parton look in the pink latex - it's FUN again

This being said I'm also glad that Ashley is back and Fatima seems to have taken a step back. I know people were arguing about this a few pages back, but some choreo choices for the RWT were unforgivable mishaps for a stadium tour;

 

• zero choreo for Cuff It
• sitting still for Virgos Groove 
• standing behind the archway during the Heated climax
• Summer Renaissance was a bit meh with her being so still

 

A lot of this would have been to accomodate for her knee surgery recovery process, which I have a lot of sympathy with, but there were more imaginative ways to use that stage and space without forcing Bey to strain herself.

If I'm not mistaken, Andrew did work on the CC billboard (along with Frederik Heyman) and was also the Creative Director for Cowboy Carter, at least up until the performance - and did the album shoot - Also, Andrew's work on Renaissance is unparalleled, and probably some of the best work of her entire career between the tour, his undoubted involvement with even the music (Honey Dijon), the famous disco horse...

Yeah I agree. 

 

Renaissance is by far her best era in terms of art direction.

 

 

I know the discourse around visuals is beyond stale at this point but I can't help but mourn the idea of how epic it would've been if she did release the movie sometime between the release of the album and the start of the tour. 

Lets talk about how Bday, I Am, Lemonade and lowkey Everything Is Love synergize the best with Cowboy Carter.

I wouldnt be mad if she pulled out Summer, Boss, Nice or so out of the Box

As a Crazy In Love defender, this is the one tour she has a good excuse to skip it. Maybe in 2027 she'll miss performing the song and actually sing the full chorus and bridge for the first time in her career instead of letting backup do all the work.

Gen Z hive gets on my nerves trying to defend writing credit lists by discrediting contributors. These people actually wrote on these songs; they did not get writing credit for just playing patty cake on the mic. I also notice when hive argues with people saying Beyoncé doesn't write her music, the hive will take a screenshot of the Wikipedia credits and remove every producer from the song writing portion under the assumption that the producer didn't write lyrics. So for example they are trying to say Bey solo wrote Flamenco. They're just setting her up to get dragged…
