I feel like her public image is at the lowest it's been in quite a while right now. Mostly due to misinformation and conspiracy theories spreading like wildfire in this day and age, and the 'controversy' of her winning AOTY added even more fuel to that. I imagine that would affect the consumption of her music to a degree.

There's always a lot of hate towards B. It is what it is. It's just unfortunate that its timed with an album the GP didn't connect with. 

 

It will be interesting if there is a rock album, and if it goes ahead. I would suspect it would have as similar reception. A return to traditional rnb, like a 4 type album, would probably be a good next step. 

I mean we also have to accept that she's now sitting at a very interesting point in here career right between being en vogue and the talk of the town and being a legacy act. So not pulling numbers on streaming kind of goes hand in hand with that too.

I just find it sad that she's clearly not clicking with the GP in the way she used to. Her music is great and so much music out there is trash and its crazy to me people dont **** witj her discography like that

I mean people also really disliked her for Formation, remember? When white people feel threatened by her, they go the extra mile. Only difference this go around is that the Black community doesnt care all that much about CC whereas they backed up Formation big time

She doesn't do anything to get the GP interest anymore, the videos would've been great to keep fans excited and get the GP to know your new music. She also could've performed on the Grammys with Miley. That song would've done good if it got attention. It's her own fault

Yall can check my YTT Charts - Im a huge supporter of CC and its still my most listened Bey project this month by quite a bit (followed by Rennie and Lemonade). I'm real with my advocacies lol 

 

Some others in the base - well lets just say yall say you fans but yall dont really listen to Bey

You guys I want to come in here and confess up front that I'm basically a success fan, I listened to CC when it came out but when it won AOTY I thought alright clearly I've missed something so have been revisiting it a lot and I am absolutely obsessed with it now.

 

I feel like I'd seen it through really cynical eyes, and I hadn't understood exactly what Bey was trying to do by authentically reconnecting with her country roots and refusing to be genre-locked as a "popstar" when she is, like all of us, multi-faceted. It's actually such an ambitious album and it was so great of her to connect it to Renaissance, the duality of women

"LEVII'S JEANS" is my favourite song but I also adore the cover of "Blackbird." It's so beautiful. I just love the whole statement of a black artist reclaiming the country music genre, especially one of thee biggest stars of our times.

You gagged!!! I'm so glad you love the album, it truly is one of the best of this century no doubt. I could give less of a sh*t about streaming numbers and I've ALWAYS been this way, and so happy more people like you are appreciating it for what it is.
