I’m so used to seeing Angie with the Knowles clan I forget she’s her own person….could be something though. But I’m def not sitting through that show if there isn’t confirmation or more of a hint that Bey will be there.

Beyoncé's status as a gay icon is so interesting to analyze. She's a preeminent icon in the community and is adored by gay men the world over. She's also popular with lesbians, which is something I've noticed as of late.

 

I've realized that most of the gay male influencers and content creators I follow on YT, Instagram and other platforms all adore her. A big reason that this song is hitting so well is because of her status in the gay community. The gay clubs will be doing wonders for the song, and I see the video being a homage to that.

I'll also add that Beyoncé has always given nods to the community. I always emphasize that her video for Freakum Dress was the first time I saw effeminate men in makeup in a music video, and even before Ariana, she had two gay men dancing back up for her on Tyra back in 2008 for a Single Ladies performance. She doesn't pander, she's not one of those "I LOVE the gays, gays this, gays that" types, she's simply who she is, and we love her for that.

 

She (along with Gaga) tends to be the favorite on drag race, so many Queens who've come through that competition cite Beyoncé as their idol and biggest influence, and arguably the most famous Queen Shangela is a perfect example of that. 

 

I remember reading into the early ball scene and how it emerged in the 70's and how houses popped in major cities around the country. It struck me that at that time, every house seemed to have a "Diana Ross", a Queen named after her who embodied her likeness completely. I feel like Beyoncé has that same aura, she's one of the coveted divas in community, and she's well aware of that. I feel like she'll be reaching into alot of that this era.

Me too and I'm not embarrassed to admit it. Already it seems like a few Atrl myths might be disproven if she keeps up this trajectory.
Around 70% of her streams are coming from WW. Localyoncé who? Doing well with a solo song. Her having the biggest Spotify and radio debut in her career also supports the hive saying her sabotage and unwillingness to play the game with her side projects was massively impacting her.
Best thing is all my friends know this song and I can discuss with them and bop at the club like I did last night.

Imagine the first Hive that receive it got so excited and share it on socmed and it got trending so for the rest of the weeks the people and the media talk about it and amplify its word of mouth promotion. The people are going to be curious what are they getting on the next day and so on. This is like a traditional promo with a little element of surprise. Of course it's hard to execute this though but whatever. 

The numbers are ok for the weekend but we need promo !
