  • It was the best concert of my life, bar none. Idc!    It was extraordinary, it was ineffable.  I knew I loved it based on the videos but I... Hey I don't know.    Best moment

I know this award is a joke but the point is, she has cemented herself in history with the likes of Whitney and Lauryn. And on top of that she won an award for a genre that completely ridiculed and ex

I'm pretty sure no one will believe me, but I kinda predicted the surprise drop. I remember following all the rumors that year about her filming the videos and hoping she would just release it at once. It was just an idea that crossed my mind, but I soon forgot about it. I only remembered it after the drop and I was so proud of myself that I had that tiny feeling what she's about to do. I also predicted that she would release all the songs from her following album as singles, but that prediction never came true.

However, I went to school that Friday. It was a completely normal day. I woke up and HAVEN'T checked what's going on on the internet. I didn't do that back then, but she changed my habits. Changed the game with that digital drop. My teacher, actually, who knew that I liked Beyonce and shared my taste, told me that she saw Beyonce's name on some headline, but she didn't get to read it. She had thought it would be something negative. I dismissed it and went on with my day. I logged into the internet when I got back home, and damn... I still remember how I screamed. I started jumping around my room, screamed even lauder. I jumped all the way to the kitchen and hugged my mom and told her what happened. She didn't care lol (but she liked Drunk In Love). I spent the whole day listening to it and watching the videos. Reading the comments online, on ARTL too. I was crazy about it. That night I went to a party and spent it with my phone, checking in how many countries she's hit number one, and I was telling everyone about it.

It's such an iconic moment. I can't think of many like that. It was different with Lemonade. Formation, too, was a shock. It's so iconic how we all remember where we were, what we did, and we'll talk about it for the rest of our lives. It's the most iconic moment of her career, definitely.

This Yonce interlude is like one of the best things she has ever done.

BeyonceWorld message board right as the IASF era began and Beyonce came an international icon was a time to be alive. It's how a lot of us met to begin with, Kisuke was also there. We came here as a group one day as a means to drag the Britney stans and never left. :deadbanana2:

Oh my gosh, I miss it there lol

When she and Netflix announce the Beyonce Collection and she releases all her concerts, shorts, and films at midnight to celebrate 10 years of her visual album, with Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce and Echoville: The Visuals coming in the New Year

I gotta go search all those pages for my initial reaction.

Wake up base! She acknowledged the anniversary. She’s starting this scramble now that she realizes the mystique persona wearing off. Expect these types of posts more often.

Can’t believe she acknowledged the Self-Titled anniversary on Instagram lol

I personally truly am surprised she acknowledged Self Titled.

It’s deserves!!!

Self-Titled is still my favorite Beyoncé album periodt.

She kinda had to acknowledge self-titled. It's what gave her the monumental "music not the charts" career pivot she needed (and the start of us getting ignored and suffering while other fanbases continue to eat content to obesity). This was a crucial time for her, deciding how to cement her legacy. This was supposed to be a completely different album, a standard Beyoncé release. Thank God for Boots.

She should be grateful for this album.

I remember I was asleep 10 years ago and then I got a sudden urge to wake up at like 3:03 EST and I checked my phone and I saw it dropped. I watched all the videos before I had to get ready for school and listened to it again on my way to school and all throughout the day.

I woke up in the middle of the night, randomly checked Facebook, saw a headline that was like “Beyoncé Surprise Releases 5th Studio Album on iTunes”, rolled my eyes at the stupid and unfunny troll **** and went back to bed. :clack:

Spoiler

When I woke up again a few hours later and realized it was real I decided to skip school. :clack:

AM doesn't have lyrics or short videos? Because if ever a film existed or she had an exclusive, she should go with AM first or Spotify and AM simultaneously.

Surprised she at acknowledged ST's anniversary.

SAME! Bey is so in her forward-movement-only bag that I would have easily put a bet on her not saying a word.

But...

This pretty much sums everything up in hindsight.

It's "THE" definitive project that cemented her and gifted her this ever-and-always superstar deity status she enjoys today. One could argue the internal realization of how she needed to go about cementing herself came with 4 and the learnings of that era (which in a way makes that a special, significant era in its own way).

But all being fair, the practicalized actualization was Self-titled. I still prefer 4 as an album (musically) but I will always love ST for the sheer gaggery of the drop, the innovation, and how it changed everything for everyone.
