it’s so fascinating to me how this shot wouldn’t have existed if it wasn’t for a major malfunction and now it’s been used in all promotional campaigns for the movie, including different angles

I would assume The Bodyguard counts for Whitney (I could be wrong though) and Beyoncé appears on a higher percentage of tracks 13/20 than Whitney does on The Bodyguard (6/13), but I understand that Whitney's were all solo songs.

They do not count it for her because the album is not affected to her.

Anyway she could have had 9#1s now if she had released Homecoming on Friday and pushed The Gift a bit more (twice #2).

What is crazy here is that she not only meets the threshold to receive the "Beyoncé and Various Artists" credit for Dreamgirls (more than 50% Beyonce appearances across all album editions - 13/20 original, 19/36 deluxe - more than JHud), but that Dreamgirls: Music from the Motion Picture was released on Mathew Knowles' Music World Entertainment in collaboration with Beyonce's B'Day-era labels at the time (Sony Music Urban/Columbia).  It has the DNA of a B album without the title. They've even started counting it towards her totals on Chartmasters because of how "Listen" has outsold all of the other tracks by a massive margin and has become a recurring talent-show staple.

Yeah, I’m surprised Matthew didn’t go for it. She’s also the reason it was so popular and talked about. They used her name in those made up petty fights to drive interest for the movie. 
 

But at the same time, she had such bad press during that era, maybe they figure it would fuel the Destiny’s Child - The Supremes’ parallel. 
 

I want Beyoncé to go back to her movies’ bag, she was on a good trajectory when she stopped. 

This is what I have to say about the Israel showcasing thing. Right now, Bey and Parkwood are not showing the movie there; it is on the TBD side of things, like some other regions too. And this I chalk up to Trafalgar Releasing just having all these options. 

 

However... If they do showcase the movie there, I will be deeply disappointed and disgusted. I refuse to believe that the artist who is incredibly thoughtful about her messaging, her upliftment, her activism and her platform, and has worked her way up to that freedom, platform and courage to speak boldly through her actions and art, to be a powerful figure in shaping culture, can be excused for showcasing her film in Israel. It is indefensible. 

 

And I do not mind any "preemptive" dragging's on twitter/X by people who are upset at even seeing an apartheid state (in the middle of a genocide, being backed by the world powers) being on the page that opens on Bey's films' website. 

 

I will reserve my frustrations for when and if the film gets shown there. 

 

This is not a joking matter or one to be reserved and twisted for stan wars and perceptions.

But you’re ok with the movie being shown in the US? The place that is funding Israel to kill all those people?

I assume that there’s a Live album coming with the film and I hope it includes covers of Love Hangover and River Deep Mountain High at the end, just like Homecoming had Before I Let Go

and hopefully we get loop the sample as a bonus track like how we got bow down at the end of homecoming too

I’m so excited to have break my soul live if she does release a live album. It was incredible when I attended the tour and in the trailer

it’s been said 500 times before but the tour really elevated it for me

Worst case scenario we'll at least be able to rip off the audio from the movie and make our own live album

Well congrats, you bought into the same impossible standards Beyoncé’s measured to. That “public perception” you talk about is just white stans from other girls being racist in Twitter because nobody cared when Taylor did it. Bey signed a distribution contract with AMC and Trafalgar which means they will do what they consider necessary to make the most profit out of the movie. Distribution is literally not Bey’s call. 

 

And mind you, she used the word “power” in arabic in the tour for a reason. She’s always been very poignant and subtle with those type of messages and she knows what she stands for. F*ck the public perception people who hate her have, honestly.

I hope tickets DO end up going on sale in Israel. Considering Tel Aviv is the only gay hotspot in that bigoted MENA region and Israel actually recognizes gay marriage. 

 

Renaissance is perfect for the gays there. We love LGBT rights!
