I didn't say it was sent to radio...

That's clear to me since Church Girl was more pushed than all songs in the album. And the US is the country where she makes more effort single wise and it was both #1 on TTH Spotify and AM. 

I thought they were gonna push Church Girl too as the next single. The playlisting was strong.

I'm fully aware a lot of people do drugs, but Bey does not and has never struck me as someone who does cocaine. Like  There's also a desperation from people for her to use drugs for whatever reason

But it’s very clear to anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together that the visuals weren’t ready, that everything released so far has been done on a whim (the visualisers for example), that there is no coordinated and strategic brilliance at play, and that they have made a complete mess of what could have been a truly legendary campaign. 

 

It’s not smart or clever to not have the visuals for the lead single months after its release, especially when said artist has established herself as very much a visual artist. She did that herself, not us! So now that we come to expect that from her, she pulls it away from us. All that has done is left me feeling quite empty this era… just an unfulfilling feeling. The music is obviously amazing, but without the accompanying visuals, it’s just never really felt like a proper era to me. The saddest part is, I doubt I’ll even care all that much by the time the visuals are released, so I don’t suspect the GP are going to care. It’s such bad marketing lol  Like, really bad. And I’m sorry, Beyoncé as the owner of Parkwood has to take the responsibility for that as I’m sure she makes all the final decisions.

Getting only infrequent glamour shots from private parties and a single two-second clip where she finally cracks a smile and holds up a finger and we don’t even hear sounds come out of her makes it feel like we’re stanning a bot who’s catfishing us  Say hi to us ***** I mean 

 

On the other hand I’m absolutely clenched for the visuals which I know will wring every drop of blood from my worthless carcass so

Playlisting is done by streaming services and their editorial teams. Unless there's a clear next single being pushed, they just pick whatever they think will stick, hence the Church Girl vs. Summer Renaissance vs. Cuff It vs. Alien Superstar situation on Spotify.

Not Jay serving the same "Just smile politely y'all" energy in both pics

Yeah even though I like Church Girl it was not the song they should have gone with on all those playlists during the album release. 
 

I got to say post Matthew Bey has not been the best at choosing singles. 4 clearly should have been EOT. Self titled should have only been DIL, no xo as the WW push and then pretty hurts to urban wtf?  Don’t even get me started on formation and hold up. BMS was the right choice but no video or promo is kind of hurting the era. They should have known AS, Cuff it, or heated, should have had immediate pushes on the playlists.  To me this is her best album and it sucks to see such a poor rollout.

Being an adult is also realizing not everyone smokes. I went to Catholic school(rich kids) my whole life and had plenty of opportunities to do/get coke at parties. Never interested me.

I mean I get the point of being afraid of leaks when it comes to songs, fair enough. But videos? I mean cmon now. And most of the looks we've seen were done inside studios anyway.

Two of Beyoncé’s visuals have leaked early, Grown Woman and ALREADY. Video leaks are very much a thing that happens

I swear to god if she drops the ball on what is arguably the best album of her career, I’ll never forgive her. Especially when this era has so much ******* potential. 

 

There’s no reason this album shouldn’t smash and have amazing longevity. The only reason it wouldn’t is because of bad marketing and decision making. All of which bey is ultimately responsible for. 

 

We’ll see. But I’m not optimistic, unfortunately.

I was JUST thinking about how Beyoncé eras are always a mess when it comes to anything after the lead single. It’s baffling how difficult it’s been for her team in the past to pay attention to the fans and the metrics, then push the obvious choice.

I’m sure there’s more that goes into it but I imagine it ALWAYS looks like pure chaos in the Singles dept at Parkwood ?

Maybe we should keep our focus on the music.

At this point in her career, we’re lucky that she’s even giving us this much. THREE albums that’ll likely all have visuals?? I mean come on! One of the three is already lauded as an amazing career highlight, and she deserves her flowers for that alone. That woman probably just wants to put out music and go on about her life. She’s already given SO much of herself to this industry; she deserves to move on her own terms. I’m just thankful that she’s even this invested and intentional. Sure I want the visual like yesterday, and there’s a lot that can be said about promo, but I respect all she’s already done.
