So is Reputation available for streaming this week? If so, that will 100% help cushion her second week drop.

21 was massive but 25 is a front loaded mess :cm:

If 25's a "frontloaded mess," I would love to see if Reputation can reach at least half of its sales in the long run.

People need to stop with this "1m is equivalent to 5m sales in 2001" thing.

After an amount, it becomes more about the artist's name than the state of the industry. Adele wouldn't sell 12m in 2001 for example. We are not talking about Ashlee Simpson debuting with 400k sales.

Still, Taylor Swift is bigger than Britney Spears, i say it as i witnessed both eras. Don't let the nostalgia fool you.

@CaptainMusic jumping on Taylor's bandwagon because no one remembers Britney's forgotten successful career pre-umbrellagate. Adele completely DESTROYED Britney's last standing record and Taylor stumped her numbers deeper into oblivion. Adele and Taylor >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> A late '90s relic.

Billboard reported 900k sorry

YES

I know you're used to those numbers with your favorites, but even when Eminem's singles have underperformed, he did great album sales wise.

900k from iTunes alone

Clock her. Speaking as if she's got all the information at hand. :ahh:

I can't at this becoming a Britney vs. Taylor thread again just like the Red first week sales thread and the 1989 first week sales thread. :rip:

How is having a teenage lolita image a scandal?

You are quick to announce her cons but he also cheated too :rip: also her starting to smoke cigarettes was a bigger scandal than the cheating thing lmao!

Anyways Britney's impact isn't only her scandals even tho it was a large part of it.
She still influenced the whole industry without her "pop culture" moments.
They are similar but that may suggest that Tay and Brit's impact is the same so I don't want to go there.

Taylor is a sweet girl tho.
She doesn't deserve the hate just like Britney didn't deserve it.
But that's what happens when you are one of the biggest celebs on the planet.

If you're talking about that other thread, that wasn't dying to discredit Britney :rip:
All I was saying there was that Xtina was on par with the level of success with the rest of the TRL crowd, and if she had released an album sooner, she probably would have had an album with those sales too

How is a teenage Lolita image not a scandal? She was underage :rip:

How am I quick to announce Britney's cons :deadbanana2: You're being super sensitive and seeing things that aren't there :rip:

I'm just listing her big pop culture moments. If I wanted to list negative things about her, the list would be different lol

And how in the world was her smoking cigarettes a bigger scandal than her cheating scandal? :lmao:

The cheating damaged her image way more than her smoking. And it definitely had bigger impact. They wrote hit songs about it!  There were no songs about her smoking lol

But we seem to agree on the rest which is my point. I'm not out to get Britney like you seem to think. What I'm saying it just doesn't make sense for some people here who are trying to discredit Taylor in the pop culture impact department when she's not that different from Britney. Sure, you can think Britney faced more scrutiny, but Taylor is the modern equivalent to that right now.

Taylor opening with 1.3m in 2017 is equivalent to opening with 5.9m in 2000 :jonny2:

Girl no, thats not how it works! You cant just press a formula into a calculator. By that reckoning Adele would have opened with 15 million. Clearly wonky calculations. Certain artists have fans that buck the trends in sales. So one formula does not fit all. Plus when youre putting different magazines and goodies in so fans buy multiple albums then thats another factor that skews sales.

How selling 3.38M in its first week +10M so far while still being in the BB200 is front loaded ? :rip:

U literally only said her bad moments without the Madonna Kiss.

I am not even gonna start looking at your history to post proof.

It is known that you are one of the most well known Britney haters on this forum.

One thing I love about this thread is that only 3 names can be brought up to discuss. Legends only! :fan:

Dont even give that post attention. Adeles longevity is legendary. Especially globally. Her last 2 albums still dominate global itunes.

9.   25 - Adele

11. 21 - Adele

But those are most of her big pop culture moments :rip:

Pop culture moments tend to be scandalous. That's just the way it is for every artist. Like I said even Taylor is like that. And if I'm defending her why would I say that if it was such a bad thing? :rip:

And no, there's nothing known like that.

But like I said you are extremely super sensitive and get triggered easily when it's not even a negative comment about Britney  :michael:

People are mad at Taylor for marketing/merch strategies?

Anything to discredit a smart business woman.

QArNFJA.gif

IKR. I wish some of my favorites would use the same marketing/merch strategies to make people buy the album. This is actually the way musicians should promote their work instead of just sitting down and wait for people to hear about it and run to get the effort.

What Taylor is doing is a smart business tactic to make people buy the album, she's not forcing anyone to do it, people are freely choosing to go to a store and get it. So there is nothing to discredit there.

Who's pressed? As a Daydreamer, I've been supportive of Taylor since Look What You Made Me Do.

Do not let those who are using Adele fool you.

Why are Adele stans always so pressed? :rip:

Must be because noones cared about her since Hello ended its chart run or the fact that she'll never have 4 albums debut with a Million+

OT: Taylor :clap3:

You just embarrassed yourself.

The  difference is Britney did it through pure star power. Taylor is using every trick in the book to get those sales :toofunny3:

Every trick in the book? :skull: Taylor is using tactics to attract more people to buy the album, which is something good.

Hopefully, more musicians would follow her example and start showing some REAL passion to their works.

So you just also embarrassed yourself.

You can't plug that formula to calculate what the sales would've been etc.

Anyway, she's slaying!! She's bigger than britney in america easily but I don't know world wide yet because the britney singles just slayed all over the globe

I haven't stanned for Britney in nearly 4 years, I don't care :rip:

I'm not jumping on Taylor's bandwagon as I don't stan for her (or anyone really) but I've always been a casual fan and became a big fan during the 1989 era, you tried though.

Exactly. Leave Britney out of it, like the rest of the world that's not living in nostalgia.

Gheys thinking Britney was bigger than Her. She needed only 2 DAYS to have the biggest album of the year, and yet they are still trying. In WW btw Taylor SMASHED everyone, haters are shook.

Britney was a worldwide phenomenon at her peak, not even comparable.

i am not surpised tho, Taylor stans are mostly 4-14 years old who haven’t had the honour to live through Britneys phenomal success and impact, so yeah.

Good for her tho, she is consistent on dishing out good material. :clap3:

Taylors achievment is incredible but i would like to see Taylor release an album not in October/November.  Oops! was released in May when album sales are lower. I fully believe if Taylors’s past 4 albums were released in the Spring they wouldnt have sold as much.
