I'm not even a Britney fan and I have to agree. Britney's album was one of the first albums I got as a child. The impact she had as an artist alone is something Taylor does not have. Britney has done way too many things that are memorable and iconic, especially performances. She's a staple in pop music.. I haven't seen that from Taylor yet.

Thank you :clap3:

if Taylor fans weren’t so blinded by Just sales they would understand

Taylor is bigger in the U.S than Britney ever was and has more consistency, globally Britney was bigger.

I wasn't aware that Taylor had diamond albums on Earth 2.

21 made 25 open bigger than almost any media Entertainment release ever not just in music. It was a given it couldn't redo 21 or close to it.

STILL, 25 was the best selling album 2 years in a row (smt only 21 and Thriller has ever accomplished, it was #1 for 10 weeks, has 1.9 billion streams on spotify despite being released there 7 months late. And despite having no extras, feautures, bonus tracks etc...

And after 102 weeks out it's still well inside BB200, barely out of top 100.

So your're making a fool of yourself

Oh and btw taylor doing this again, in 2017, is WAY more impressive than what Britney did ONCE in the PEAK of sales.

Since lots of ppl here are trying to downplay rep's sales compared to Brit

The fact that she did it four times. :jonny:

Right? :jonny:

Seven years after her only million opener, Britney opened with 290K

Seven years after her first million opener, Taylor is getting her fourth million opener :clap3:

Isn't "Fearless" and "1989" both diamond or very close to it?

I wasn't but aware Taylor had diamond albums omg Earth 2 America.

And?

Britney's album sales in the U.S were partly inflated due to her label not releasing CD singles so people had to buy the album unlike Taylor where you could buy both, I used to stan for her so I know what I'm talking about.

Fearless selling 7 Million in 2008 & 1989 selling 6 Million in 2014 >BOMT & Oops going Diamond at the peak of album sales

As I said Britney was bigger globally but very few artists can touch Taylor's domination in the U.S.

It’s actually very easy to congratulate her. Why are you all trying so hard :rip:

Taylor IS bigger than Britney at her prime.

She's also bigger than Adele.

:dies::dies:

People trying to say Taylor doesn't have any impact on pop culture :ahh:

This is her fourth album to open with 1m+ copies. She's definitely established as one of the fixtures of pop music this decade.

Right? People always talk about Britney having "impact" because the media used to hound her and she was having scandals

And guess who's that person in 2017 :cm:

Britney's impact isn't solely based on scandals

U suggested that it is that way and u are a known user who discredits Britney on the forum

anyways yes.Taylor is having many scandals.
Reputation is truly her Blackout era

why are people here so pressed :toofunny2: mess; however the OTH choose to twist this and get a Kii out of it, it won't work, This is her forth album to achieve this, what is there to drag about and bring Adele and Britney into it to discredit her :toofunny2:

accept that Taylor is here to stay for the long run and move on.

Congratulation To my legendary fave, each of her million opening albums is so good in it's own way, and has it's own sound, and each one gives you a different feel :jonny2: a diverse talented Legend :heart2:

I"m not trying to discredit Britney :rip:

But when you think of Britney's impact on pop culture, a large part of it is from her scandal. From her early days of having a teenage Lolita image, to cheating on Justin Timberlake, to kissing Madonna, to her mental breakdown (shaving head, attacking paparazzi with an umbrella)

It's not a bad thing. Taylor's cultural impact is similar with her having had a serial dater image and the Kanye saga

Taylors achievment is incredible but i would like to see Taylor release an album not in October/November.  Oops! was released in May when album sales are lower. I fully believe if Taylors’s past 4 albums were released in the Spring they wouldnt have sold as much.

Taylor opening with 1.3m in 2017 is equivalent to opening with 5.9m in 2000 :jonny2:

U always are :rip::rip::rip:

How is having a teenage lolita image a scandal?

You are quick to announce her cons but he also cheated too :rip: also her starting to smoke cigarettes was a bigger scandal than the cheating thing lmao!

Anyways Britney's impact isn't only her scandals even tho it was a large part of it.
She still influenced the whole industry without her "pop culture" moments.
They are similar but that may suggest that Tay and Brit's impact is the same so I don't want to go there.

Taylor is a sweet girl tho.
She doesn't deserve the hate just like Britney didn't deserve it.
But that's what happens when you are one of the biggest celebs on the planet.
