Its being dragged mostly for being awful. The fact its gonna miss out on being #1 after such a huge launch effort is just the cherry on the anti Swift cake. People love a downfall.

Spin it how you like but #2 would be a flop FOR HER. The amount of money, planning and effort she puts into her new launches. Her humongous fanbase ready to suck up anything new she has to offer. And look at who is set to beat her. A nobody and a throwback has been.

These records are not prestigious anymore. People dont even know difference with vevo and you tube videos. Its just another thing for fans to flap their gums about. Nobody else cares. Its now just down to which fevered fanbase can manipulate the numbers best.

Im fascinated to see how this does on the back of her last era. Its gonna be a true test of whether she still has the same power. And I dont mean first week success cause that can be misleading when fans rush out en masse. aka the BTS standard of success. Personally the song reminds me of Glee songs but hey young kids love that sound. But are young kids still her market?

Madonna is my queen but I never pretend to like poor music no matter who its by. Its not terrible but she has set such a high bar for herself that songs like this just dont live up to expectations. We keep hoping she will pull another pop classic out her ass. I think she needs to get back to doing pure pop and amazing ballads. They were her strengths in her prime. She is now fixated on dance music and trends. I do genuiney feel thats what she is interested in as she has always kept up with modern trends. But at this point she needs to forget about appealing to the kids cause they are never gonna really care about an artist pushing 60. She cannot compete in that market. So just give your loyal fans more of what you did best before. Madonnas global appeal is still a match for any artist. She really just needs a great song and she can be back up there. This ain't it.

They are one week wonders in the charts. Crazed fanbase rushing out first week. No depth or substance to their success. Their music doesnt resonate with a wider audience and they cant get a hit that sticks. What use is a boyband without hits?

Yes I am too old to care about the musings of a 16 yr old girl. She can come back and talk when she has lived, loved and paid bills. And found herself. Real life stuff. Then maybe Ill find a connection or relatability factor.

Pray was never gonna be a big hit that was clear after its promo release before the album. Then several months later he decides its a new single with video and rap feature. Baffling. The album needed something fresh to keep sales alive but he was using an old tired track the public knew already. Made no sense. plus like I said it wouldve been nice if he'd given YEBBA a push by releasing No peace. That song got such great feedback on twitter. Great urban appeal. OT; I do like DWAS but just not compared to NP. Now NP can never be released cause he's played his duet card.

Sweet but psycho sounds like a track that didnt quite make Gagas The Fame album. Which is a good thing but not a very original thing. I dont see her bringing anything new to the table. And Dancing with a stranger just reminds me that No Peace from Sams album couldve been a huge hit if he hadnt kept pushing the boring Pray single so much just cause its his fave album track. Its a far superior duet and YEBBA deserved a platform with her amazing voice. Instead we got the duet with generic female pop vocals.

You are delusional if you think all teenagers are interested in this type of artist. Or even know who she is. The thing about todays culture is kids are very selective with what kind of music they listen to and what kinds of media they follow on social platforms. Its all customized to their personal taste. Do you think all black kids know about this girl? Do you think all boys know about this girl? At best they vaguely know her name. You need to have big hits or big media scandals for the public to be aware of you. She has had neither.

Not sure about chart stats but I will say Shallow is far wider known to the public than 7 rings. Success is not always about chart stats. Ariana songs have a more targeted young demographic. I dont think she reaches a mature audience. Hence why she has never been a big album seller.

Impressive. But I feel rappers should be compared to other rappers. Cause singers dont do endless features like rappers do.

Adele? but anyways Shallow is clearly the biggest global smash of the past several months. Especially taking into account how a lot of its appeal and success is stifled by how the charts are now geared towards a YOUNG streaming market. A lot of Shallows success is down to an older age group who dont get fair representation in todays chart system. Not just in the US but globally. Streaming is where the power now lies.
