Final: rep 1.267m/1.29m

In her debut week, Taylor Swift's reputation (Big Machine) comes in at 1.29m all in, for her fourth consecutive million-plus bow, a first for the modern music business.

I don't understand how after overestimating LWYMMD they continued to overestimate her album in the same manner :rip:

Nevertheless, 1.29m is absolutely great.

The first day number was more front loaded than usual, therefore the overestimation happened.

I guess the number is SPS.

They said LWYMMD would do 500K first week, then it ended up doing 420K with HDD, and then 365K with Billboard.

They then said Reputation would do 1.4-1.5m first week, then 1.3-1.4m, and now it's at 1.29m.

1.32m I believe.

so now that she didn't break Britney's record (which wasn't a record anymore since Adele happened) will we have 10 more pages of fighting? :celestial5:

Oh, she was 29k off.

Her prediction fell quite a bit then.

Are we really here trying to discredit a 1M+ opening week in 2017? What even is this thread? :rip:

It's kinda sad really, congrats on Taylor, she WON :clap3:Still don't like the album tho

Are those final numbers?

Yeah. BBs could be quite different tho. She might still beat Britney, or she might be under 1989. It's all so close!

I think she/her team were aware by Wednesday/early Thursday that the album was selling below expectations, so the magazine version discount was the last attempt to surpass 1989/ Britney (it's only a THEORY btw, I'm not saying it's the absolute truth)

Isn't BB the one that matters?

So basically everyone who bought 1989 first week bought Reputation. The numbers are nearly identical. :dies: Got to give her props for consistency.

Yes

She might surpass 1.3m with Billboard. They weigh some physical stores with 1 purchase counting as multiple, while BuzzAngle/HDD does not.

if I remember correctly, last time HDD's numbers for 1989 were like 15k-20k higher than Billboard's.

Remember the 1.29m doesn't include the numbers from her store (I think). So I would wait for BB numbers.

How conflicting. :celestial5:

Microsoft's new MP3 Store at the time pulled a Born this Way and sold 1989 for 99 cents first week, which is why HDD had substantially higher numbers.

That's a lot of copies, isn't it?

I would assume they include it with their prediction.

Yes, but I already revisited the 1989 HDD thread. HDD's final numbers for 1989 were 1.316m.

Billboard's final numbers were 1.287 m
