Because she has the desire, the drive, the ability, the talent, the intelligence, the personality

Massive and loyal fanbase. Not everything has to be cuckoo crazy & quirky. They want comfort music, relatable lyrics about love and family and friends.

Now, love is the oldest topic in music. Why do you guys judge her?

She knows how to do marketing. She has many songs for different situations. Gawwwd, I just love this woman so much.

Taylor is an unusually perfect storm of all the important elements for superstardom.

People say it's just a marketing machine, but every label has actual professional marketing experts (not Jigsaw in a blonde wig) and can't replicate her success. No amount of clever marketing will make people love music they wouldn't otherwise.

It's everything. She has the product people genuinely love, she IS a great saleswoman, she has unequaled productivity and drive, her personal life in terms of how it affects her work (mental health, drug problems, etc) remains incredibly stable, and her work has a very cinematic/interconnected quality that you don't really get anywhere else. She feels like her own cinematic universe that rewards paying close attention and knowing more. That's honestly the biggest thing and the reason the Eras tour was such a phenomenon. It just adds to the fact that she actually writes it all and it's about her own life. She is highly aware of the connections and encourages them, even retconning things at times. The deeper you go, the more rewarding it is which encourages people to go deep.
