I've always been of the mind that Jack is rarely ever the issue when something with his production doesn't land well, it's how people choose to use him. He's shown time and time again how good he can be when an artist is making good use of what he excels at. It's when they misapply his strengths to tracks that don't fit into that wheelhouse that it's a problem, but that's their fault, not his.

No I'm not surprised because he worked with two other producers who brought new ideas. His problem has always been that he recycle songs for multiple artist.

So the issue is Taylor herself

He made the pop music stale and pop is dying

Phoebe on her own would have release this without his pencil and the same if not better quality

Fans said Lost Boys was disappointing (idk anybody irl that was excited by it) but I never saw 1 review from a formal music publication that called it disappointing. The new wave of music critics (online content creators) may have pushed back but the consensus from traditional media institutions was universal praise. If you like the music, more power to you but this score doesn't say **** all other than the industry wants to see her on top
