Oh, I didnt realize it was that close. Kinda sucks tho because this means the lead will be dropped from radio and being pushed, so it wont reach its full potential with total streams, etc. Excited to hear this and I hope it isnt a ballad, it's almost summer mama give it to us!

I was thinking that same thing. Verifyied that she did say her favorite song was Track 3 and I had high hopes since it would be earlier on the album. Track 8 is further in and should be sadder ? Sometimes I think she just lies to us though.

I was hoping for a song on June 5th and then a week later the album drop like good 4 u but I guess they had to move quicker.

Depends how strong Drake's songs stay during their second week. Her best shot would be trying to debut at #1 again because Ariana is releasing next week and she's definitely going to try to debut at the top. Then whoever has the catchiest song will prevail in later weeks. But both of them would be smart to try to debut at #1.

Her second singles don't disappoint especially if it's upbeat to match that description.

Hope it is a ballad! Better not be a whisper pop ballad either. Drop Dead was just not it for me…

Yes! It did its job. Like she said, it was the first chapter. I just have a feeling a lot of people are going to say the new song should've been the first single. But Drop Dead served its purpose.

And if the new song is as good as people are saying, it's gonna be a hit and hopefully get some more momentum going for the album drop in a few weeks.

It seems like the 3 songs Olivia played for the Vogue interviewer back in Nov/Dec are Drop Dead/Begged/The Cure. That means this whole rollout has been planned meticulously by her team for months and months.

I'm confused. Drop Dead underperformed? Didn't it debut at #1 in the US, and isn't it still holding pretty steady on streaming?

the vogue UK description for this one sounds exciting. Hopefully it's a little catchier than Drop Dead

Pretty sure that was Begged. The theme she described for the third song fits the lyrics we have for this one perfectly.

I'm gonna hold off on buying the 7 in since I didn't like drop dead that much

I already pre ordered the album vinyl anyway
