the bridge gets me every time i love the melody change so much

You know, songs like that, they are stories that people can IDENTIFY with. You know what I mean? Anybody! Children were singing this song at graduations, at weddings, at funerals.

Okay but actually this is her best song. I've been listening to Gaga for like half my life now and this song completely blew me away, one of the best pieces of pop music ever - it perfectly encapsulates so many facets of her artistry and signature sounds without sounding too busy, without being a reductive rehash of her first hits, and without compromising vocally or lyrically.

Okay this is HIGH KEY true. Should've been the lead single instead of Disease and I will never stop parroting that

but Inb4 her stans with no taste rush in here to be like "OVERRATED, ZOMBIEBOY AND FILLAH ARE BETTER!1!1!1!1!"

I have faith that this will get its flowers in time... and if it doesn't then it will be a crime that TDD was a single over it. And I say that as someone who likes TDD.

I love this song and I think it's among her best. It's so poignant, universal and relatable. I also think it's actually about death and about losing a partner. The precision of the lyric is the tell.

It's a bit cheesy but I still love that song

This is one of her best ever performances for me

I remember they put it in New Music Friday and a few other playlists, wish it caught on with the public

Girl what? I feel like it's collectively TOO loud BECAUSE it's over-compressed. In fact, I think a lot of Gaga's albums suffer from this in the mix/master, which makes me think she personally just likes it that way 💀

When a track is compressed within an inch of its life, the bass/low frequencies are sacrificed (because otherwise it would distort past a point) and that's why her music sounds so tinny, treble-forward, and high-end. I say this as a huge fan too.

The Born This Way album is her best creative work, but the mix/master is atrocious outside of "Judas" and "You & I". "The Edge of Glory" sounds like it was recorded through a tin can.
