Which of these albums do you prefer?

I feel Speak Now is more consistent and has gems but Red's highs are otherworldly and make up for the lows as well.

Speak Now >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> but I'd steal a few tracks from Red

I prefer Speak Now.

Cut the pop tracks off of Red and it'll be closer, but with them there's a wide gap between my preference.

Back to December vs Treacherous (jonny5jonny4)

Speak Now vs I Knew You Were Trouble. (WAP)

Dear John vs All Too Well

Mean vs 22

The Story of Us vs I Almost Do

Never Grow Up vs We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together

Enchanted vs Stay Stay Stay

Better Than Revenge vs The Last Time

Innocent vs Holy Ground (absolutely impossible jonny3)

Haunted vs Sad Beautiful Tragic

Last Kiss vs The Lucky One

Long Live vs Everything Has Changed

Ours vs Starlight

so that's 11 vs 10

Speak Now takes it by a smidge gaylorcat2

my thing about Red is that even though it's an indisputable pop bible, it's not as consistently excellent as Speak Now is, in retrospect. I love how publications like Pitchfork and Rolling Stone one day decided that Red is her undisputed masterpiece and then just still cling onto that even though things can change even if the music was released years ago. yes, Red combines excellent pop blockbuster singles with a folk sensibility, and Speak Now is more full of stadium anthems and what was thought of as proof at the time that Taylor could write a full album on her own. and yes, Speak Now still is a great accomplishment in that regard, but it's also just a better and more consistent album when all is said and done giraffe State of Grace and Treacherous are extraordinary songs, but somehow 29 year old me feels like he'd take The Story of Us and Innocent over them if a gun were pointed to his head. hmm. yeah. Speak Now is the one 1stplace

I'll always be a Speak Now truther! Before folkmore came out this was my favourite TSwift album.

Dear John vs All Too Well is the toughest decisition i've ever had to do in my life

Red is and always will he THE Taylor Swift album, so that one! Gorgeous devours cute.

Red has higher highs.

Agreed but low lows too while Speak Now's lows aren't even low - they're mid and consistent

Red is the better album, but I prefer Speak Now, because I had a special memory attached to it.
Speak Now World Tour was the first ever concert I had attended.

Speak Now is my personal preference, but I totally get why Red is favored by fans and critics alike. It has numerous career highlights in terms of both quality and success, and Taylor's Version with the Vault tracks truly elevated an already outstanding album.

Red wins, but not by a lot.

If you take them as they come, Speak Now definitely.

But there was a lot more potential in Red; the execution just fell flat. As somebody said above, it plays more like a playlist. It doesn't know what it wants to be. And honestly the singles are the worst part about it.

I use it like this in my library and it's probably top3 from Taylor swift for me:

1.State Of Grace

2 .Red

3 .Holy Ground

4 .Treacherous

5 .All Too Well

6 .Starlight

7 .I Almost Do

8 .Sad Beautiful Tragic

9 .The Lucky One

10 .Come Back... Be Here

11 .Better Man

12 .The Last Time

  1. Begin Again

Red. By far. Speak now is very good but it feels too polished for me idk
