You're right to push back on blanket framing like that. "Palestinians and Arabs" aren't a single ideology, and treating them as one homogenous belief system is inaccurate.

As someone with Arab and Middle East ancestry, I can also acknowledge the horrors I've seen and the stories that have been reported, often times not covered by mainstream media. Obviously, not everyone in America supports Trump, but a significant number of people do. It's the same concept. As someone who lives in America, I can recognize its strengths while also acknowledging its current shortcomings.

Currently, the Islamic Republic of Iran is the primary state sponsor of domestic and global terror proxies, although there are other sponsors of terrorism aside from Iran. What they do though is fund and arm non-state groups to use violence in order to advance a political goal. Again, some countries, including their terror proxies are driven by ideologies or political goals that have lead to mass atrocities. Some groups will target Coptic Christians. Some groups will target the Druze. Some groups will target the Kurdish. The Armenians. There's even child sacrifices made, and no this is not made up. It goes on.

I mean, are we forgetting Iran's 'Woman, Life, Freedom' movement from back in 2022 where a Kurdish girl was killed for not wearing her hijab? That was the first time in a while where a movement gave a voice to the voiceless in the Middle East, and inspired so many other women, and men, living in oppressed countries to speak up. It's important to remember that the morality police in Iran were widely condemned for harassing, and in some cases violently arresting women for violating compulsory hijab laws, as well as even arresting women for singing or dancing in public spaces. I don't even know if you are aware about the crackdown that happened in early 2026 where 30,000+ were massacred in two days for protesting against their government. And what's worse is that they would gang rape the women before executing or killing them. Sometimes hiding their bodies as punishment or burning them in mass morgues and not even giving them back to their families to hold a proper funeral. Imagine that monstrosity. And these were regular people. Athletes, mothers, scholars, children, etc.

The concern a lot of human rights activists have, including myself with much of the Palestinian movement is that most of its people and supporters, though obviously not all, express admiration for dangerous and murderous authoritarian figures such as Khamenei despite him being a literal dictator and who had the blood of millions of lives on his hand. The part of the reason is that his ideology is seen as supporting the Palestinian cause (although it brought upon more destruction, chaos and war into the Middle East - at the end of the day), meanwhile millions of Iranians, Syrians, Lebanese, Yemenis, and others suffered under the policies and influence associated with his leadership. For me, personally. It was painfully traumatic to see the majority of Palestinians throw candlelight vigils and ceremonies in response to his death, given the fact that he was a literal murderer who brought upon so many regional conflicts all over the Middle East, including the recent Iran crackdown.
