Girl, we see your posts. You're a f*cking zionist

If you saw my posts, you would know I criticized Isr*el as well. Why brush over the fact that certain countries and regions in the Middle East oppresss, persecute and don't give rights to minorities, including gays? This isn't some made-up fan fiction and shouldn't be taboo to discuss as my family literally had to escape that, yet it falls on deaf ears with so many of you. But please, enlighten me.

Also, the Bjork user was in several Katy Perry threads back when the SA allegations were made public, doing the exact same thing as they've been doing in the MJ thread: saying that Ruby Rose is lying, that nothing she presented to the public means anything, and the reporting on it was all media lies. This is an established pattern of behavior. They're not a serious person.

We are discussing this and other things concerning this member presently

multiple things can be true at one time. it doesn’t dismiss the nasty, problematic things you’ve been saying. instead of addressing the criticism people have lobbied towards you, despite many being in agreement with the bulk of your statements, you’re becoming increasingly defensive. unclench and log out for a bit.

It's also deeply irresponsible to claim an entire society normalizes rape

A man was caught on camera gang raping a Palestinian POW in a maximum security concentration camp. The Palestinian POW was raped in an outside courtyard where the Israeli soldiers knew that the rape was visible to all.

That man has since become a national folk hero whose act of rape is framed as a heroic assault on "the enemies of Israel". Even when an Israeli military court tried to punish the soldier after global backlash, Israeli nationalists broke down the metal gates and perimeters of the military prison he was being held in to try and free him. The man now does appearances on late night pop culture talk shows in Israel as a sign of his celebrity.

You cannot pretend to care about Michael Jackson of all people while honoring and defending the existence of a society that hails rape as a necessary tool that it will utilize in their mission of genocide and ethnic cleansing.

May we see the day that no child predator can get away with their crimes without justice AND the justice of the Israeli state dissolved from existence!

She has a documented history of lying for the world to see, do you not see that? Child sex abuse, sexual assault are very freaking serious, and for members here to treat it like a stan war joke says more about them.

My frustration is mostly with those who are quick to label me inaccurately while simultaneously minimizing, or even dismissing, my lived trauma and experiences. Sadly, this seems like a societal pattern, often times due to biased media portrayal, where, no matter how much proof or lived experience I present, people still refuse to believe the victim, unless they, too, have also experienced a similar type of oppression or abuse.

As you can tell, this is obviously a very personal and deeply sensitive subject for me. I mainly come on here to discuss music and pop culture, but somehow I got pulled into this thread and insulted by Björk, which is why I reacted emotionally. From there, the conversation just kept escalating.

Thank you for responding respectfully, though. I genuinely appreciate it, and I'll take your advice into consideration. Hoping certain users are also done mocking or minimizing my struggles with their responses, so we can all get about our day.

ZTP was put in place to address the blatant islamophobia, transphobia and racism that was prevalent on the forum at the time. We put in a progressive plan that became a catch all for all offensive behavior. If you get 3 warnings under ZTP you’re permanently banned.

However, there are instances where you do it once and it’s immediately a perma ban.

Let me start by saying that you're looking at the entire Middle Eastern struggle through a very narrow and Westernized lens. Yes, that story is horrifying and deeply disturbing. Yes, they absolutely deserve condemnation and accountability. But let's not pretend that this level of brutality is unique to Isr*el or exclusive to one conflict. The man responsible for sentencing the death and torture of thousands of lives in Iran and inflicting turmoil across millions in the Middle East was also glorified, even by some Westernized "human rights activists" who've never once stepped foot in Iran or the Middle East to fully grasp or understand the awful realities the people had or have to go through. Many of them were, and are still living free and laundering money from innocent civilians, with no justice given.

Do you want me to share articles about women in Iran who were intentionally blinded by pellet guns for refusing to wear mandatory hijabs and for participating in protests? Or how women are facing targeted acid attacks? Or how women are being gang-raped before being executed? Or how gays in certain regions are kidnapped, sent to prison and killed in silence. Or the recent footage of innocent protesters being killed in the streets by the thousands during the January uprisings in Iran? And guess what, many of their perpetrators are still running around free. And not just free, but dictating and controlling an entire region of people who simply just want the same freedoms that you and I have. Some of these perpetrators, even being glamorized on TikTok and by westerners. You say you condemn child predators, yet you're not acknowledging that there are literal countries currently under Sharia Law where child marriage is legal. Right now, if I was living in Iran, I wouldn't even have the freedom to access a forum like ATRL to discuss Olivia's new song or the weather app or the news to check on my safety because basic internet privileges are literally banned, another human rights abuse. Just think how inhumane and cruel that is to an entire nation of 90+ million people who are currently being silenced and left alone in the dark. This is the longest internet blackout reported in history since the creation of the internet, yet no one is creating a thread or talking about it.

Human rights abuses, political violence, and state brutality are tragic realities in many parts of the world, not just in one country that people choose to hyper-focus on online. The problem is that many of these stories end up underreported, ignored, or quietly swept under the rug because, and for some reason, certain victims and their suffering are treated as less important than others.

There are countless people across the Middle East and other parts of the world who have endured persecution, violence, imprisonment, torture, or death under authoritarian regimes, not just by Isr*el, yet their stories rarely receive the same sustained international outrage, media attention, or public empathy.

— And that's part of what frustrates so many people who have personally witnessed or lived through these realities is that our stories and reports don't seem enticing enough for Westerners like you.

That doesn't excuse wrongdoing anywhere, but selectively treating one nation as uniquely evil while ignoring or minimizing atrocities committed elsewhere creates a deeply inconsistent moral standard.

I'd honestly love for many of you to travel or live in parts of the Middle East, not to make assumptions from a distance, but to better understand the realities on the ground firsthand. Western media coverage and propaganda often present a very narrow or selective picture, because that kind of violence exists all around. But yes, let's agree that child predators, including child marriage, should not get away and that justice is given to all of those who have been impacted by any or all atrocities.

what's the distinction between 3 warnings ZTP and instant ban ZTP? is it solely based on moderation team discretion?

genuinely asking

cus i remembered ZTP first happened after the bring back SYG experiment way back then, and when you violate it you out immediately no ifs or buts no redemption yada yada

hope i make myself clear

I completely understand that. It’s also deeply personal and sensitive for others too. And we have to be mindful of that. Your lived experience is unique to you, but the commonalities that bond you with others should also be looked at with the same prism. That’s all i’m asking.

Despite the best of intentions, I have not always handled these things with the grace i’m trying to move with now. So thank you for your words.

Context and severity. Sometimes someone may say something inartfully that is offensive but isn’t intended to be, but it still needs to be addressed. For example: someone who misgenders someone (with context) or says something racially insensitive (again, the context matters) vs. calling someone slurs, supporting ethnic cleansing, calling for people with mental illness to be killed (which happened a few weeks ago).
