Why am I being tagged into discourse about…..Michael Jackson? Even as someone who unironically enjoys discussing the economic growth of China and Dengism, even I would not want to wade into the issue of Jackson given it's both true how CSA victims will reasonably find the discussion upsetting and also, at the end of the day, the sheer cultural and parasocial impact Jackson had on people as one of the first global superstars makes navigating such complicated.

The user who is using country in air-quotes to refer to Palestine should remember the NY Times just released an investigative piece on how the Zionist entity uses literal dogs to rape Palestinian prisoners of war and that we're going to look back in history and think simply dismantling the Zionist Entity was too generous of an answer for the kind of depravity the modern Israeli fascist state has devolved to. The sheer level of forced re-education needed to save a society who has normalized the desire of wanting their enemies brutally raped, as the average Israeli Zionist does, cannot be understated.

There is no other contemporary society where sexual violence and the enjoyment of it has been as normalized as present day Israel as a product of its current Zionist nationalist ideology.

I just wonder why so many users here stubbornly insist on their agendas and try to make smear campaigns and lies and make serious accusations against members for simply speaking and bringing up the details free from any stan biases. It's really not cute at all and can end up hurting someone. Either engage with the material honestly free from brain rot or don't participate.

A New York Times article does not suddenly become the definitive representation of an entire people, conflict, or society. Like any media outlet, The NY Times itself has also faced criticism over selective framing, inconsistent standards, political bias, and sensationalized coverage regarding the Middle East. Again, I say this as a Latino-Arab whose family had to escape the Middle East due to persecution and is now living in the West.

Like I mentioned before — There are Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims, Jews, and Christians alike who carry real trauma from decades of war, terrorism, displacement, dictatorship, extremism, and violence throughout the Middle East. There are tens of dozens of minority groups living in the Moddle East who've had a long history of persecution. Many families, including mine, escaped the region precisely because they experienced firsthand what ideological hatred and ethnic demonization can lead to. Our lived experiences cannot be erased or reduced just because the mainstream news or Western media doesn't cover it all the time.

It's also deeply irresponsible to claim an entire society normalizes rape or to portray ordinary civilians as inherently depraved because of their nationality or political identity. Because, I can also flip that around and link you articles or videos by talking about many other countries in the Middle East, including mine, who have a long history of abusing and killing animals.

Criticizing governments, military actions, nationalism, or human rights abuses is fair. But broad statements portraying millions of people as uniquely evil, sexually violent, or psychologically broken cross into dangerous territory and only deepen hatred rather than contribute to justice or peace. And that goes with any region or state.

Oh that's not-

Yeah, criticisms of the Middle East using religion as a weapon to justify the oppression and persecution of minorities, including human rights activists, and wanting regional peace suddenly makes someone a Zionist? As an American, I'm allowed to criticize the U.S. government, but as someone who is ethnically Arab, I'm supposedly not allowed to criticize governments in that region without being labeled or crucified? Interesting, but please enlighten me, because as always — it's those who don't live or aren't from the Middle East, who are from the West and that have never stepped foot in the Middle East, that somehow seem to know more than those who are actually from or had to escape that region.

Why would you say that I, someone Palestinian who made anti-Zionist posts in the Civics section, am 'sounding like a Zionist'? Not sure you are making sense.

"Every single member that has crossed me is complicit for creating a hostile environment of passive aggression where horrendous lies are perpetuated against me."

The claiming that accusations built upon tangible evidence are lies and a media conspiracy depite... being built upon tangible evidence that everyone can see.

You are literally on this site spewing rhetoric that is in some regards reminescent of zionist rhetoric and framing. Holding anti-oppression views in one area doesn't make you immune to propaganda in another. You have shown yourself to be susceptible to anti-victim, abuse-enabling viewpoints.

Girl, we see your posts. You're a f*cking zionist

Also, the Bjork user was in several Katy Perry threads back when the SA allegations were made public, doing the exact same thing as they've been doing in the MJ thread: saying that Ruby Rose is lying, that nothing she presented to the public means anything, and the reporting on it was all media lies. This is an established pattern of behavior. They're not a serious person.

Let's unpack this, the MJ case/allegations are controversial not because of strong evidence he is guilty, but because there is surprisingly a lack of tangible evidence showing he is guilty. Take it up with the police and jurors involved. The details have constantly been repeated and explained and shown, and no amount of rhetoric and Leaving Neverland selective pieces will change that. And for you to claim that MJ being not guilty of his accusations are reminiscent of Zionist propaganda is simply outrageous and unsubstantiated.
